  • Sounds like a dark dungeon in the beginning

  • 3:20+ ....totally funky!

  • 3:00+ ....totally funky!

  • This Music used to scare the crap out of me, when i was younger, but now it's just awesome!

  • @jimmeno Yeah this is magnificent, just a brilliant tune, one of my favourite Spectrum tunes ever.

  • I love the sound!

  • sometimes i just loaded the game to hear the music..... great music for this great game!

  • @philipsuper I'm like that for a number of games myself =) I love this tune, one of my personal favourites.

  • The first 128k tune I heard that really impressed me, and on the whole I don't think it's been bettered. It was co-written with Rob Hubbard apparently.

  • @LoLzZ85 I love this tune, its one of my favourite Spectrum tunes ever. I think Rob Hubbard is credited for the original version (C64) rather than co-writing the Speccy version. I initially thought he did co-write it and I even mentioned it on a podcast I done last year but I was then informed he didn't. Bet you someone comments and says he did =)

  • @Otouto72 Ah, bit of a mystery then this one. The other versions credit "Rob & Benn" in the scrolling message, but no credit is given for music on the Spectrum version. I always assumed both guys composed the actually melody/tune itself and so the dual credit.

  • One of the best by Ben Daglish

  • @NonicekCz I couldn't agree more! Ben Daglish was an amazing composer who gave us many a great tune and this is undoubtably one of his finest works!

  • I prefer this version over the C64's version. The bassline has more of a presence here; it's my favorite part of the song.

  • @TheChestnutBowl So do I although mine is a biased opinion I must admit lol =) Yeah this is absolutely superb, one of the very best tunes to grace the Speccy!

  • @TheChestnutBowl I think this tune sounds amazing in every single platform out there... but IMHO the MSX version was the best one, it has a stronger bassline like the speccy, but the drums sound MUCH, MUCH better...

  • @loudenvier Oooh must check that out!

  • Awesome game!

  • @paranoidpfanclub It's really nice but I was hopeless at it, never got anywhere with it at all. I still like the game though, this tune being the main reason why!

  • remember playing this on my childhood days on the spectrum.. way back in 80's.. what memories

  • @MentengElites Oh yeah memories indeed! I was never good at this game but hearing this was more than enough for me =)

  • surely the spectrum 128k wasn't stereo ?

  • @alanlovedog It sounds unique for defs! One of my favourites, never had the game originally but the first time I heard this I was blown away!

  • @alanlovedog

Actually, yes, believe it or not!

In fact, when I started programming music on the Spectrum, I was very thrown off by the way the sound chip is set up. Channel 1 is hard panned left, channel 2 is center panned, and the third is hard panned right.

  • this brings back good memory..... oh man what have i played this game for hours and hours on rainy cold days

  • I well prefer this version to the c64, not just cos I'm a speccy fan, but I used to enjoy focusing on one of the 3 audio channels - all of which are amazing!

  • I love this music, easily one of the best made for the Spectrum.

  • Something is wrong with the channel balance, unless it was made like this on purpose (hopefully not). Good song either way

  • I believe it's made that way. I was iffy about it at first but I downloaded the ROM and listened to it and it played the same way. But if anyone disagrees, please feel free to shoot the messenger.

  • Ca faisait des années que je le cherchais. Merciiiii !!!!!!

  • I have no idea what you just said, but I like the sound of it :)

  • I think it translates: "This is what I have been searching for years. Thank you!"

  • Ah thanks for the translation!

  • similar to the MSX version.

    GREAT.

  • That's indeed how I remember it, and it sounds GREAT!

  • @Outlander999: the 128K Spectrum and the MSX had the same soundchip (AY8910) and CPU (Z80), so that is no coincidence. I really like the purity of this version, it's like an "acoustic" version. The original is pure genius, though.

  • @Outlander999: THE BEST =D

  • Ah that brings memories back :P the music blew me away when it was released for the 128k lol
