I am 15 and I'm singing this song in Honors Choir at school. Judy's version is so awesome.

Thank you for letting us join in and sing ! So many coming together for love of country is truely awesome. Few songs rival The Star Spangle Banner in the hearts of Americans, this being one. The Civil War tore men,families, and nearly our country apart.. We fought and died because we believed men were ment to be free. All men. God's tears fell on battlefields large and small for those four years. Let's pray the blood we shed along with his tears,will not have been in vain.God bless America!

How many thousands of innocent young men & women have sought comfort from these magnificent lyrics when they found themselves in the terrible throws of battle - better yet, how many young souls were swept into the very throne room of God; because they believed those lyrics.

Many thanks, betahifi! I love this song - taught me by my grandmother - she would sing many a Civil War song to us on family car trips through the battlefields. Wonderful for me to see the Harlem Boys Choir, also: now sadly, disbanded. Thanks!
