Cool video Bryant. Not only is reverse parking more practical, it makes cars and trucks look better. What vehicle is that you are backing in everywhere you go?
I, too, like to back into parking spaces usually. I've been getting in the habit of doing so since about last year. I'm not 100% perfect at it always, but I think I'm better at it than I used to be. I think it's also a good skill to learn, as it may come in handy. The one thing I don't feel comfortable with is parallel parking. The last time I truly did it was on my driver's test two years ago. I haven't had any chances yet to use parallel parking.
Very interesting topic Bryant. Yeah, I always reverse park wherever I am. The comment Rex left made me laugh as I kind of like reverse driving and can whip a full size car into a small sized spot usually on the first try. I think more people hit things backing out than they ever do backing in. The key to reverse parking is to scope the situation carefully just before you park.
I can reverse park large and small vehicles. The only thing, when I drive my dad's truck, I have to stick my head out the window to see what's behind, when parking in a crowded lot, sometimes.
I used to always reverse park at work until my manager pointed out a interesting observation: all the Senior Managers (I think you'd call them Presidents or VPs in US) parked forward-in... they are more interested in the NOW rather than how they're getting out. I said that those of us reversing parking were preparing for the future: and a quick get-away at the end of the day. I thought it was an interesting observation on Corporate culture.
everyone who knows me, knows I love to drive in reverse and most of the time reverse park! they also feel Im a show off because I can reverse park very good and parallel park very good! one of my vids show that I got out in a tight place in my own drive way because my brother and his friend fell asleep plus we couldnt find her keys! anyways I feel in tight parking lots its alot easier to reverse park then reverse out of a parking when you cant see others right away!
Those do help, but you've still got to depend on your sight, to a certain extent. Some folks -- bird brains -- just let the sensors do all of the work.
kool .. i usually park very well also .. however i still havent managed to perfect a parallel park in a tight spot .. mainly cuz the only 2 times i hav done it were when i got my license and once parking downtown where space is very limited ..
I don't parallel park often, as there's usually a parking lot where I'm going. When I go to Downtown Atlanta, I'll usually park in a parking lot, or, if I do park on the street -- which is rare -- I usually get in the space on the first time, if I don't turn too early or too late. ;-)
Parallel parking is much harder for most people than just reversing into a parking lot. You have to do it often to get the hang of it. I can do it, but I'm often still like a foot further from the curb than I want it to be.
When I was going to Georgia State, I usually parked at the Turner Field (Home of the Atlanta Braves) Blue Lot, where a shuttle bus would then take me and several others to campus. The spaces were very tight, to get as many folks in the parking lot for baseball games. I always backed in, because I would be able leave quickly that way. I saw so many struggle to get out, that pulled in.

Yeah, it's a great skill to have. I have to two friends who do not park in reverse at all.

I love them Houses at the 2.50 mark, how much are they worth? I am not from america is this state Atlanta Georgia?
cristoretornebiblia 2 years ago
I'm not sure of their value, but their probably in the $100,000s (U.S. currency).
Most of this footage takes place just south of the City of Atlanta, in the Atlanta suburbs.

Thanks for replying, I enjoy your videos, 100k is cheap even 200k is
What is Atlanta like is it like new york ?
cristoretornebiblia 2 years ago
From what I know of New York -- I've never been -- Atlanta's like a smaller version of it.
Of course, there's a lot of shopping Downtown, but a lot of stuff that goes on, happens in the suburbs, which is about a 50 mile radius or so.

Oh, no problem. I thank you for watching.
Additionally, the housing market crashed when the economy went south, so the houses could've been worth more.

I've no problem with reverse parking, the only thing I can't really do (but that I'm suposed to able to) is parallelparking.
I only did it righ once and that was on my driving exam.

Parking sensors!!!, parking much easier and avoids problems.
Are cheap and easy installation.

I always reverse because I drive a commercial van, and I can't see squat to the right when I have to back out onto the street.
Actually, I reverse everywhere, so I reverse even better than I pull in. Also, it's easier to reverse in a narrow spot than pull in.
