They refer to Mexicans as Spaniards. Should we start refering to US Americans as Brits? Sometimes I'd love to enter the brain of an American (Brit American or whatever) just to know how it works... I'm curious.

First, to say it's "South American" is ridiculous, since there ain't only one accent, but many. This is probably Colombian accent. Anyway, over acted soap operas are mainly Central American.
