@GunBroker100 I highly doubt it is made of metal. The sound would be much different. There is such a thing as a metal resonator banjo, sometimes called a Dojo (dobro+banjo). This is probably just a transparent head with iridescent printing on the inside surface, similar to shiny gift-wrapping paper.

@Xylophunk Could be I guess. I have an old Gibson the still has a keather, (skin) head on it fromt eh 40's. Technology moves on. I did see a Gibson Master tone at the Branson blue grass festival this fall with a metal head, perhaps a snare drum head adapted to it. Other than being a bit loader than the standard head the tone was about the same. All the Banjo resonators I've ever seen are wood. and mount on the back of the loop. Still neat looking either way.

Wow! I'd love to come to an open mic like that out there in Albuquerque, New Mexico.....Although, I attend ours out here in Southern California as often as I can. She's really pretty and she plays amazing. I loved the way she messed with the tuning of the banjo, at the beginning and in the middle of the song, to get that unique sound....i've never seen that before, but maybe I'll try something like that on my guitar. @datsyhoehoe exactly i played in a world class highland bag pipe band and i play 2 other instruments i have always been tought clean clear sound befor speed if you cannot play it cleanly and with out mistakes you cannot play it and need more practise

She could slow it down just a bit, too fast and the notes all run together. Check out the tempo from Earl's recording.....it's not how fast you do it but how well you do it. She is very talented and undoubtedly has spent thousands of hours practicing; I know, I just started playing the 5 recently. It takes a lot of patience and determination. She should get with a band, she's ready.

if anybody don't know who M Eli Jackson is hes known as the "applation music man" from the moutains, he built insterment of all type's, i learned from him how to build them hes gone now passed on the great music hall in the sky, RIP...! i dont play but i build fine insterments i can tune by ear but i use a electronic tuner to make it faster, i built a japannes 3 string strum stick valued at $2100 there used in japnness gaysha houses by the women to intertain the men,

im going to build a steel banjo like that ive already built a plectrum 4 string long neck, it took me a year to get the sound i wanted from it but i got it right, its priceless now, i have every thing to make the steel banjo except the wood for the neck the steel plate will be polished stanless which i already have it took a yeear to find a plate, eli jackson RIP made the round wood base for it, out of tigger maple, i want a tigger maple neck but thay warp so easy, not sure how many frets i want
