To add to my last comment, there are a million things though that everyone can to be green and live green. Examples, reducing waste, reducing energy consumption, reduce car usage (walk, bike, public transportation, live closer to work,) use LED lighting, recycle (or don't use in the first place, bags being one of the worse)

This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. It is not the home owners responsibility to check a box so they get there energy from solar power, that is not what is going to drastically help the pollution, but rather it is the power companies responsibility that every time a new power plant need to be built, they look for alternatives to the standard CO2 emitting power plants and build wind, solar, or other instead.

Science has added years to our lives and made them easier as well. Don't abandon science now, biting the hand that feeds us. Check out Union of Concerned Scientists on climate change. Look at the evidence and decide for yourself. If we are not actively involved we, as a species, will lose so much! Big oil and big coal only profit by our ignorance and will not change. Why defend THEM?

I think the scientists who believe in this garbage called global warming want it that way. They know that 99% of us will never travel to China to see the lack of "blue sky" and that even more of us will never travel to the polar ice cap to see "the melting ice sheet".

Well burning coal also acidifies the ocean and puts harmful chemicals into the air that cause various cancers as well as diseases... So if you like fish, don't want black lung or skin cancer then maybe you should care. BTW, have you ever been to China... The same reason no one mentions the Fume carborator for cars that has been around for decades allowing a vehicle to get 100MPG off the same fuel we use now. And if that aint the end all be all They made the 10% ethanol which makes our cars burn gas even more if you tarck it. I lost 90 miles per tank with that crap. Its all about money.

My girlfriends father from Germany had a similar experience. He lived in Germany by a river too dirty to drink and fish. as soon as the green party was voted into his city (HOF) they cleaned up the river. 12 years later, they fish, drink and swim in this river. Humans have been on the earth for 5000 years or more. But weve only been polluting since the industrial revolution. WE CAN TURN IT AROUND. WE CAN MOVE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION aND OUR KIDS CAN FOLLOW. A slick promotional video for "green" energy probably sponsored by a utility consortium. The inside story, though, is utility opposition to mandated use of renewable energy. They prefer that consumers pay for this themselves, through a special fee, rather than to put the cost burden on all users including shareholders. The federal government should mandate that all power companies derive a fixed percentage of their electricity from renewable sources.
