  • im consfused with the PCI Slots which one is 1.0 and 2,0?

  • @R3VBigBlue - They look the same - check for your motherboard's specifications.

  • Nice card. i have it in 1gb version. bought it in europe for €80

  • @PcMrGaming LOL did you watch the video at all, NO it shows ONE slot

  • 180$ = Box

    10$ = ATI 4850 card

  • @ab03tb actually just the memory cost more than $10, the chip should be $40 or $30 maybe, then you have PCB, cooler, + Accessories = $50 - $60 maybe, AMD have to earn money, and the manufacter too(Asus, XFX...), and the reseller ( newegg, bestbuy...) , right now this card its available for $100... its the price you can get.

  • @freego56 i wanna get it but

    black ops or 4850

    what you'll choose ? :'(

  • @ab03tb black ops or 4850? what do you mean? black ops from call of duty? O.o, if you wanna buy a new card right now the new radeon hd 6000 are the best bang for the bucks

  • @freego56 how much?

  • @ab03tb the radeon hd 6850 is for $180, you can check prices in newegg.com, but if you want a cheaper card the radeon hd 4850 its a great buy

  • uhh......you got the ugly version.....the original version looks better!

  • i have two 4850(1gb) in crossfire....wow

  • @shadedude123 - If the power requirement is 450W then it probably is the PSU's problem.

  • @arvutihull Got the same card but i have 375watt on my powersupply and it works flawless, Dell 420 xps

  • I have this card but in 1GB edition .... It runs any game on High/medium settings .... Great Card

  • To anyone who has this graphics card, did it come with an instruction manual? I am a first time builder and its pretty daunting considering some people have said not all hardware comes with installation intructions.

    Thanks

  • I have an HD4850 Sapphire, idle temps are around 80, and in game it goes up to 110C. I have already applied a fresh new thermal paste ICoolerMaster Paste) and still nothing better.

  • i have two 4850 in crossfire. one is asus and the other is a radeon. the asus has a much better heatsink. then the stock radeon. the asus runs 10 degrees cooler.

  • ... me la regali?

  • @PcMrGaming - Basically yes.

  • i have a HIS Radeon HD 4850 vga card...in idle mode its tempature is 47....in game mode its change a 70 & 80 temapatre...is that normal??????

  • @istore221 - Yes, these temps aren't dangerous.

  • open up ati ccc. go to overdrive. set your fan at 55% and that should keep the card much cooler. if not. check it for dust.

  • i have the same graphics card but i didnt get crossfire bridge...

    wtf?

  • u could at least do some talking :P

  • Too complicated for me as my native language isn't english.

  • ii also have the same card except mines the TOP edition...9% factory overclocked XD GPU:680 MEM:2100

glaciator is good cooling...keeps my card 34-36 celcius IDLE and under 50o celcius MAX LOAD

  • @jamesdk09

    Lol, i have a sucky one, i get 70 - 80 idle at the fan on 56%..

  • gonna get ime with the new imac

  • LoL glaciator. That is not really good cooling. :S The gigabyte zalman is the best.

  • uhmm... you should buy 5890 (its 5850 x2) or 5870. Its better to buy NOW than hd 4870 :)

  • a have the same card .... :X i like that :D 5/5

  • Good video. 5/5

  • Thanks!

  • can u play l4d and is this a pci card or agp

  • Yes you can play L4D with it smoothly maxed out. It's a PCI express x16 graphics card.

  • kida!

  • Gpu temp in load and idle? I saw tests and this cooling was the worst.

  • theres better cards out now...

  • looser

  • there's a software you can use for the ATI card called "smart Doctor" go into the setup dialog option then fan control and select "enable Smart Cooling".

You probly' figured that out by now but just in case!!!

    /\_/\

  • buy msi asus pain in the ass always unstable

  • Got it yesterday :p I loved it

  • dude how many crossfire ports did it have on it i need to know lol

  • Two.

  • will it be compatible with hp pavilion 9340f ?

    thank you

  • actually the 4890 x2 willshit on the gtx 295

  • Well I tested both cards - GTX295 and 4890 in crossfire and GTX295 outperforms 4890 :) so stop tellin your bullshit please :)

  • If you overclock 4890 Crossfire and GTX 295 to maximum clocks on air possible 4890 Crossfire configuration is about 5-10% faster than GTX 295 depending on CPU.

  • It's normal.

  • Nice!

  • It's good. Nice OC, there's no need to get a better CPU until it doesn't bottleneck your GPU. E6750 @ 3,76GHz doesn't bottleneck 4850, maybe only on 800x600 in some old games.

  • Thanks, 9800 GTX and HD 4850 have pretty much the same performance. 4850 is about 5% faster in 3DMark Vantage... Some games/applications just run better on nVidia and some run better on ATi.

  • Hey dude! When you took the card out of the blue plastic bag, what thing did you tear up? somekind of sticker? if it was a sticker then what kind of sticker? (did it read asus or something?) Because I got mine today and im starting to think they gave me a used one.

  • Hey, I think that it just was a piece of tape there. I unboxed two of these cards and they both had the same sticker (piece of tape).

  • Do you get a crossfire contact even when you just buy a single card?

  • yes you get 1 crossfire bridge per card.

  • whats that heavy noise in the background?

  • It's my camera, it was completely silent in the room.

  • Oh. If you listen to it with headphone, you hear the noise. Btw very nice card!

  • lol finally got this card today :] exactly the same, but i cant use till i get my 500 watt psu lol is it a good card anyway?

  • Yes it's a very good card.

  • Good :]

  • Small cards..heehe

  • it doesn't came with a fan controller? =O

  • You can control the fan for example with RivaTuner.

  • i have the same one:) runs perfect:)

  • I found something... I sent you a PM.

  • I'm going to get a better camera hopefully in next 4 weeks...

  • 4850 X2 would be a very good and fast card. But now when the 4890 is out it may be a better choice (OC-d 4890 is only about 15% slower than stock 4850 X2).

    And thanks for subscribing! :-)

  • But my camera has a really bad audio quality so it sounds a lot louder than it actually is.

  • You can check my Crysis/Crysis Warhead videos, there I'm running my card's fan at 70% because I usually have 25C in my room :-) The temp of the card stays below 70C with 70% fan speed.

  • At least my 4870 X2 stays below 75C when fan is at 50% in Crysis... 4850 X2 should be a little bit even cooler.

  • You can put the fan to 50% with Catalyst when playing a high-detailed game like Crysis.

  • i just ordered this yesterday and it should come in 2-7 days! i cant wait! my old card was a geforce 8600gt (POS)

  • You'll see a big performance increase over 8600GT!

  • And also amazing heat increases over every other card on the market!

  • No, the hottest (temps) card on market is currently a Radeon 4870 X2. As long as the temps are low enough for GPU there is no problem with them...

  • i like yur camera btw : )

  • It's actually a pretty bad camera... I just had some very good lights in that room. With bad lightning the quality is horrible!

  • cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait cant wait ca

  • wahahah so much excited

  • ooh i see. I was thinking wich oine to get. Well everyone tell me the XFX hehe. Thnks, suscribing

  • wich's better xfx 4850 or the MSI quadpipe 4850?? or the HIS IceCube4?

  • MSI seems to have the best cooling. But I would get the XFX one because they have the best warranty of those brands and their cards are always overclockable and very probably won't have issues (they're using only good chips).

  • it's not mine actually ;-)

    I have 4870 X2.

  • EAH 4850 is about as powerful as a 4870.

  • i got a xfx 4850 comming in the mail today

    cant wait :]

  • i like the xfx 4850 to me it look awsome

  • how much power do u need to run this card?

  • it can use up to 150W of power when on full load.

  • hi i want to make you a question ...

    my pc is

    motherboard : gigabyte ep45c-ds3r

cpu : intel core 2 duo 3.0 GHZ

    HDD : 1 - 500 gb sata 2 - 160 gb sata

    ram : 4 gb

Graphic : ati radeon 4850 (powercolor) 512 mb

    PSU : corsair vx 550 W powersuply

    is good ? ty

  • if it's working it's fine.

  • ty :)

  • hi one question please :p

    ASUS ATI Radeon 4850 it's good ?

    who's better ASUS ATI Radeon 4850 or gforce 9800 ? ty :)

  • 4850 is faster.

  • but whos' better ? 4850 or gforce 9800 ?

  • 4850 is better/faster :)

  • it makes memory-sharinng on my pc and shows that it is 1gb! but that makes it to speed down! does anybody know how can i fix it?? please help!

  • do you have latest drivers?

  • yes i have the latest versions. even format i tried to do but nothing changed..:(

  • what PC specs do you have? Maybe something is bottlenecking it... if you want to see the real size of the memory get a program called CPU-Z and check what does it show.

  • sorry, GPU-Z is the program =P

  • i have cpu-z and gpu-z!

    cpu-z shows 1gb and gpu-z shows 512mb!!

i have intel pentium dual cpu E2180 2ghz,

    dual channel 2x1gb ram,

    7200 hard disc 186gb,

    and motherboard gigabyte 946gmx-s2.

does anybody know where in my pc i can check or change this memory-sharing?

  • if GPU-Z shows that it's 512MB then it's showing it right... also you CPU is bottlenecking your graphics card and little OC will probably increase the FPS a lot.

  • i made it little OC and it's better but it isn't like i expected it. i can't play "call of duty world at war" at 1280-1024, it plays but not good.

i don't know what bottlenecking means? is this a problem??

  • bottlenecking means that one component is slowing down another. For you very probably the CPU is bottlenecking (slowing down) your GPU.

  • thank you very much for all the information that you gave me! if it's really this do you know how can i fix this?

  • No problem. Pentium dual core CPU's are getting old and are too slow to use with nowadays graphics cards. I think that you must upgrade you CPU if you want to resolve the bottlenecking problem.

  • do you reccomend me to overclock my CPU or buy a new one? if i decide to buy a new CPU which do you reccomend me??

  • I recommend you to buy a new one... Pentium dual cores are just getting too old to do all work fine. I don't know how expensive CPU you are able to buy, but E8400 is one of the best cheap gaming-CPU's currently on market.

  • is there a big difference between the hd 4850 and the hd 4870 ?

  • no, chip is the same. 4870 just has gddr5 memory.

  • I just got this today, but im pretty clueless on how i go about installing it. Any advice?

  • nice

First find a PCIe x16 slot on your motherborad (only slot where the 4850 can be connected into). The put the card into the slot and then find 6-pin PCIe power connector from your PSU and connect it with your card.

  • i'm getting the 4780 version in a month cant wait

  • nice

  • Should hopefully if i get the money (half way there) and gettin alone in the dark free with it (yus)

  • very nice! Show de bola esse modelo da Asus. ÇÇÇÇÇ8<

  • getting this tomorrow! :D

  • Nice! =)

  • Kas seda maha ei müü pliis mul oleks seda vaja ka:D?

  • see pole minu oma - ei saa müüa seda.

  • i have the same card :) nd i love it :)

  • ehehe nothin special.. my XFX9800GT is more

cute and Assassins Creed for free.

    but about performance is nice.

  • 4850 is around 20% faster than 9800GT.

  • no. i read some reviews and i think its about 10%. just in high resolutions like 1680x1050 or more the ati offers more consistent fps. the nvidia drop. anyway have others versions it dont happen GTX GTX+ GTX2

  • 1920x1200 4850 is 20% faster than 9800GT, on 1280x1024 it's yes 10% faster... 9800 GT and 4850 are pretty same-speed cards - both are good.

  • WILL RUN WITH 450W?

  • depends what 450w PSU you got. If you got the Corsair's one then it will work without any problems!

  • look at the card psu reqs and stop asking stupid question...jeez

450 Watt or greater power supply with 75 Watt 6-pin PCI Express® power connector recommended (550 Watt and two 6-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)

  • Hmm if i didn´t get a CF bridge could i buy i by i self? i mean that i dont need to buy a new Videocard to get a CF bridge!

Somone know were i can buy it?

  • I don't know...

  • This is a good card!

But i´m sad because you got a crossfire bridge, but i have not get one!

I have the same card! but 1 GB!

  • I did get the CF bridge with that card but after that I bought second card for CF and ther wasn't a crossfire bridge too.

  • No problem! :)

  • Nice :)

Single card will handle Far Cry all maxed on 2560x1600; in Far Cry 2 you'll be able to max everything on 1280x1024 and it should play at least over 30 FPS, also depends what are your other system components.

  • Wait? How much was it?

  • It cost 236$ here, in Estonia.

  • 236? O_O in italy 139 euro

  • yea, everything is expensive as hell here...

  • got mine today :D

  • nice :)

  • huh thats a bit weird, got this card today and there wasn't a crossfire bridge in the box

  • Yes that's weird. With this card there was CF bridge in the box but after this I bought second card and there wasn't a crossfire bridge in box too.

  • hey can i ask...i might be buying this card very soon..and uh, i was wondering if i could run this card with a gigabyte 550w psu

  • yes, you will be able to use it with 550w PSU! If you may not have the PCIe power connector there was PCIe to 2x molex in the box.

  • yay! then im getting this card for sure..thx dude

  • lol, you could run this with a 450w psu, i have a 460w psu, which i am likly going to upgrade to a 850w in the future, and i am running the nvidia geforce 9800GT

  • oh..k..thx man..buying this card soon :)

  • so its vga? or not

  • it's DVI but there's a DVI to VGA in box.

  • Thanks, getting mine for christmas, can´t wait lol

  • yes, ATI 4550 1gb does not exist, lol. They make 1gb 4870, 4850, 4670, 4650 but not 4550.

  • nope 4550 does exist

  • lol, of course the 4550 exists! But 4550 with 1gb of graphics memory does not exist, lol!

  • how hot does this card run??

  • I personally don't know - i haven't bought it for myself and haven't used it :)

  • it should be something like 60-80C.

  • do they sell the asus ati hd 4550 1gb in the USA?or just in europe

  • hd 4550 with 1gb doesnt exist

  • öööhm yes it does why do I have it on my computer? :D see my rig on xfire rainbowracing XD

  • hmm google can't find a hd4550 with 1gb ram XD

  • see my rig on xfire! rainbowracing and you can see that i got asus ati hd 4550 1GB ;D

  • of you meant 4850 instead of 4550 then yes, they sell it in US and in europe too.

  • Nice i love unboxing vids ;)

  • Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside lol

  • lol i does =D

  • Especially one as nice as the 4850.

  • i know im getting one =D

  • i love unboxing video too, i like the sound that these new packages make :)

  • yeah l lovv the new smell lol

  • It's when I read and actually agree with comments like this that I scare myself with how geeky I am.
