i have this computer it didnt last me long, now i have to replace the mother board wich will cost me the same as buying a new laptop,. thanks alot toshiba
Just another comment about playing games on this laptop. I recently installed Call Of Duty 4 on this, and its handling it like a champ at 1024x768 res. Quality is on par or better than xbox 360 (only other frame of reference I have personally) I only play Multiplayer though.
im going to buy a laptop in a couple of days and i would like to pay games on that like cod 4 bioshock sims stuff like that and i dont know what laptop to get within my buget of 450 pounds. i have found 2
HP G60-214EM
Packard Bell TN65-T440
i think they are good but i need someone that know about it to tell me what to do and if you have the time can u please have alook and sugest a cool laptop for me to use for gaming
yea man..very good laptop..but the common issue the toshiba customers are facing is the webcam.. not the best..u gotta update the driver cause i had problem with the sound and pic sync
yea, the webcam is a 1.3 megapixel webcam. However, the software and drivers provided with it are not that great (in terms of real-time video effects, like distorting, mirrors, avatars, etc.). In terms of picture quality, for my particular webcam, lowlight situations are not good, but with adequate lighting, the quality is very good.
really? how come? the one thing that is annoying is the glossy surface which I have to clean every week. But performance-wise its been as snappy as the day I got it.
I just wanted to know, how good is this laptop with playing games? I am looking to get a laptop for college soon, but I also want one that is able to play games. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
I'm looking to play RTS games like Company of Heros, Age of Empires, C&C3, just games like that. I just wonder if it would be able to handle games like that.
Well, I bought it for $1049 with $100 off list price at Toshiba Direct because I was a student. Its not available online there anymore, but you can try calling them to see if its in stock.
Dude, why are you whispering? are your roommates asleep? :)
I'm considering getting the A305-S6864, so thanks for the review. You didn't mention the duo-processor chip and the speed, which seems pretty fast for them. The RAM and the big hard disk space seem oriented to gaming, which I don't do, but I often have need for a lot of memory for some applications. This seemed like one of Toshiba's top-of-the-line laptops; I'd be curious to know what other Toshibas are considered superior. W
Sorry about that, the mike isn't very receptive. About the hd space, theres some work needed because I have 200GB free with only 2 5GB games, and a couple of movies. Even with System Restore, that doesn't add up. And also it gets smudgy really quickly. I generally have to do some cleaning once a week with the cloth they provide. Other than that man, this laptop is kickass, because I can play Assasins Creed on low to med details @1280x800 with no problem.
I know, but now that my smaller dell computer is old and falling apart, I depend on the x205 as the laptop to use for class. First off, the x205 weighs about 20 lbs with the power adapter (battery life only 1 hr) versus my old laptop which only weighs 5 lbs. I might just buy a net book to use for notes and on the go internet, The big toshiba is just too much to carry around.

I just used Windows Movie Maker, the one that comes with Vista, to edit it. To record it I used the software that came with my computer.

Ive had my A305-S6864 for about three weeks. I love it. How do you think it will handle a game like Time Crysis? Well atleast the graphics part.

Nice review, I have the toshiba x205-sli1, I wish I had opted for this model though, because its much lighter than the big x205.
sirmasterpimp 3 years ago
Yeah but the sli1 has a better graphics card and bigger screen ++ its made for gaming
