there are roughly 280 students approx. 5 per gender per year per house (5x2x7x4=280)

@msdisney ok, so if they're are 1000 students in Hogwarts, were are they all? I mean, there are 5 boys in harry's house. 5 x 2 (for boys and girls) = 10. 10 x 4 = 40 (four houses). So that means that there are 40 people in each year, then there are 7 years at Hogwarts, so 40 x 7 = 280.

Were does the 720 extra students come from? Are there less students in each year, or less students in Gryffindor? Sorry but this has ALWAYS confundled me...

Wizards can go up to 150 years old, which is around Dumbledore's age.

That's the best estimate, I think.

harry did die, and he didn't die. there was a moment in time in which he went to the place in between 2 worlds[the wizarding world and possibly heaven...?] and dumbledore met him there and they discussed what would happen if harry "went on" and if he went back. harry decided to go back. oh and how he "died" was voldemort used avada kedavra and harry was the last horcrux[u kno how he can do parseltongue and all cuz he has a part of voldy lol] and so the curse only killed the voldy in harry :)
