We all agree that Shtokolov is a huge artist, time to do something about his art and spread it through our community full of fake idols.(do I sound like a zealot?)
Does any Russian friend knows where he is burried?
The images of the video are so well placed and the paintings so appropriate ( did I see one I. Levitan, too?)
I Saw You I saw you, and my tired old heart Revived the past that I once knew, And memories of my golden days Returned to warm the heart anew... In autumn's latest hour there are Some days, some moments doubly blessed Which stir the breath of spring in us And something shudders in our breast... There's more than just remembrance here, Here life has spoken from above! In you abides the old enchantment And in my soul the same old love!...
В вашей зарисовке очень удачно переданна русская душа!Ощущаю родное.И вместе с тем проникаюсь через ваше творчество, творчеством Бориса Штоколова.Видиомо это прямая дорога к сердцу русского человека.
I met you - and all those bygones Reignited this dated heart. I recalled those times of gold Which rekindled my heart to warmth. And on occasion there are waning Hours and days of Autumn When a sudden breath of Spring Awakens something in us again. Here then, at hand not just a recollection But life harkens in us once again And that familiar enchanted, charm of yours And that love within my soul.
I agree with bobb60, CraigFrancisSoto, and AlesTemple. The more recordings of this song we can hear, the better! Shtokolov continually grew as an artist and thus he infused new light and meaning into each interpretation as he aged. And to expand on what AlexTemple's comment: Katia, you are an artistic genius in your own right, for your video montages are beautiful, masterful accompaniments to this music. Your special hobby is a precious gift to us all: I cannot thank you enough!
This is your second transcription of "I met you". In the previous video, Boris was much younger. Interesting contrast. Here he is about 50 and while the voice is wonderful, as usual, it's obviously not as clean and crisp as the younger Shtokolov. This is not a criticism but merely an observation. Either Shtokolov is fine with me.Even at 50, the great falsetto is still a thrill.
Grazie mille Katia. This is just superb. The resonance of this voice is unmatched and as khankonchak has said, his artistry is beyond criticism. Shtokolov elevates anything he sings. This gives me goosebumps! Thanks again dear Katia.
