this tempo is great hte slowness just brings out the heaviness of the groove. they should think about slowin' down new millenium too just a little so the vocals have a to sit in the pocket

Slower indeed, but don't you think Haake can play the doublebass parts in the song if it were a bit faster? In my opinion it's more likely they play it at this tempo to enhance the slow and grinding feel of the song - the same way it went with Nebulous. Anyway, killer song, thanks for uploading :D

They are definitely not playing slower for Tomas Haake.
This song is already one of the slowest on the album, like syringe said they just want to give a grindy grating feeling.
Tomas Haake is practically sleeping here guys trust me.

They said that in the Chaosphere album people would often miss out details and for example Concatenation on the Rare Trax they have slowed it down!

but i totally agree on the change of tempo thing, ive even slowed down a version of lethargica.
deeper pitch makes it sound so much more heavier aswell
