@TheKnightman25 THE THEORY IS BY THE TIME THE AIR PUSHED THROUGH THE TUBE GETS COLD AS SOON AS IT REACHES THE HEADERS, THAT MEANS ((NO INTERCOOLER)) THAT IS ALSO Y THE TURBO IS AT THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, IF U STUDY TURBO THEN U'LL SEE Y MOST PPL WITH COREVETTES DO THIS TO THEIR VEHICLES
what a waste of money and you could have done so much more with a simple vortech supercharger with tons less work and none of that crap piping throughout the entire truck, hell you probably gained 100po in weight from all the crap inder the truck
@A22BMX its just a remote turbo system, same as any reg turbo set up, the piping is just ran to the front of the car. Probably wanted to keep the engine bay clean.
The truck and and the video look good, but yeah the water might protect your shaft and tires. Over all it dosen't make a good impression, which is what posting a video is for.
@Mr69dreamer any car can do a burnout on dry asphalt dosnt mean shit hes just tryin to save money....u wanna pay him 200$ each for those rear tires? or who knows how much for the shaft?
@carlbellybutton10 Not all rednecks are created equal. Some live in trailer parks some live in a barn, but one thing they all have in common they all own a project pick up. I own a pickup but I would never think of modifying it.Its a WORK vehicle. My Nova? Now thats a different story
a good kit will set u back about 5 g's with tune and injector upgrade , if u can piece it together urself around 3500 would be a good start but for that amount u can seriously trick out the motor trans and rear end and have money left over for gas no joke check my vid out its all motor and i am about $1800 dollars in and just need to do my rear end which is about 600
Aren't these kits like $6-$7k? Seems like a lot for what you get back out of it. Not cutting on you, I love silverado's and interested in the turbo kit for my own but just don't feel its worth it for my application.
I really dont see why they need to do a remote mount setup on this truck? I have looked in the engine bay and i could fit 2 turbos and an intercooler in there
It's not a matter of NEED. It's cheaper this way, more efficient, hidden, and makes it sound like a diesel... Think about it, this way there's no need to get a custom manifold made. That's a good chunk of change alone
negative, pressured air charge doesn't change with the length of the tubing as long as you still have something pushing on the other end. many many hours of dyno time have proven that it really doesn't matter where you put the turbo. there are other issues to address when putting a turbo there, like you need an oil pump to push the oil back to the engine once it's gone through the turbo, yadda yadda, but power is rarely comprimised :)
hey man, i have an 03 silverado single cab 4.8 im planning on putting an sts turbo in my truck but im wondering if you know if i gotta change my transmission or anything to let it run properly?? or if just puttin a turbo in it that it will work just fine. just let me know if you know or not. thanks!
no the orinial 350 was just that, the ls1 is what came in the newer corvetts, and pontiac GTOs. The heads are different. along with the cooling style is a reverse flow.
LS1 comes out of the camaro, corvette, firebird, gto. basically the performance cars that GM made. Which is excellent if you have a L31 like me, cause you can find universal parts out of the LS1 for cheap.
Don't know about differential failures but the only really weak spot in these trucks is the 4l60e. Run it til' it blows up and then build it good. 2500s and above with the 4l80? Those are tough to kill and built can take 1000++ hp. You can swap a 4l80 into a half ton without too much difficulty, just a thought.
look i am not a car buff but y do they put them under the truck vs under the hood is it a space issue and how much did that cost cuz i want to one day do it to my truck and is there any benefits or disadvantages to having it there vs under the hood
stock gears man? cheap. that sounds horrible. get better gears unless your like me with a 4X4 and dont want to shell out all that money to change the rear and the front gears plus labour. but anyways.. pretty cool.
it looks terrible, thats a fact not my opinion you cunt, and even if it did look better then the silverado, it would be choking on its dust any given day.
nice truck for the most part, cept ur shitty little burnout at 1st....water...come on...real men play with real toys and well dont use a cheater like water...or bleach, but yea, nice ride anyways..
Who cares if he uses water to start spinning, you know they use water in the burnout box at the track right? And by the way, a silverado isnt really considered a real mans toy.
Yes, anytime you put boost into a stock engine you'll sacrifice some dependability, as long as you keep the boost pretty low though you won't have a problem.
