So tell me what produces more Carbon Dioxide ........ refining all Australian Iron Ore using Australian Coal in Australia or shipping all Australian Iron Ore and Australian Coal to Asia to have the ore refined. It is the later because you reduce CO2 generated during transportion. So all the "Carbon Tax" is doing is making it uneconomical to refine Australian Minerals in Australia which would produce Global CO2 Emissions. Labor is pathetic and only the ignorant vote Labor!!!!
Carbon tax does NOT change behaviour. We will still continue to live as b4. This trade is bogus and a new TAX ON AIR - 2 BREATHE. This is a BIG FAT LIE. Those "scientists"" were caught red handed on their false/fraudulant stats. They are in affect creating a NEW TAX and making carbon a new commoditiy. ANyone who beleives this is a fucking idiot
Global warming is REAL and we need you to help usher in carbon offset trading taxes and help prevent Congress from stalling on progress toward environmental sustainability and momentous profitability.
Only through partnerships with YOU, the global citizen, can we help save and unite the planet.
We applaud President Barak Obama and former Vice President, Al Gore for re-engaging in this significant C02 endeavor.
The green revolution means unprecedented prosperity for corporations around the globe.
Generation Investment Management's founding partners are studded with officials from Goldman Sachs. They include David Blood, former CEO of Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM); Mark Ferguson, former co-head of GSAM pan-European research; and Peter Harris, who headed GSAM international operations

Dr Miskolczi showed that the solution to a differential equation for the greenhouse effect developed in 1922 by Arthur Milne, wrongly assumed an infinitely thick atmosphere. In re-solving this equation a new term and also a new law of physics have been proposed setting an upper limit to the greenhouse effect. Dr Miskolczis theory indicates that any warming from elevated atmospheric carbon dioxide will eventually be offset by a change in atmospheric moisture content
Wind mills supply power to the local grids. They get paid per unit supplied to the grid. This is monitored thru meter readings available at the turbine location. The wind supplier bills the grid based on units recorded by the grid. this is real, verifiable and measurable. Second, the Indian govt has emission factors for CO2 per MWh supplied to the grid. Hence you can know the CO2 emissions by multiplying the units by emission factors
He missed the most important point about carbon credits - additionality. Additionality means proving that the project would not have happened in the absence of carbon credits. In practice, this is very difficult to prove. If the project would have happened anyway, it is not a reduction.
What about a carbon tax? It would make it more expensive to pollute than to use a green source of energy. It could even be fairly easy to administer if the fossil fuels were taxed directly based on how much carbon they would emit if burned. Maybe issue some sort of tax credit to help people pay for the higher fuel costs without removing incentive to not pollute. Every one would get $1,000 dollars to spend on whatever, and that would be payed for with a carbon tax.
C&T is a carbon tax, they're just making it complicated and bullshitty so we spend time discussing the practical issues or who gains, instead of asking "WTF?"
Regulation! How sad is it the only way you can convince people to do the right thing is if they can make a lot of $ doing so. That's BS & will ultimately fail. When people determine there's not enough 'profit' involved in trading CO2, they'll either quit or demand more $. You could also argue that unless there are polluters putting tons of CO2 in the atmosphere, there will be no $ made. Therefore, you may actually encourage people to pollute, just so they can make $ off it. Enron anyone?
How sad that the only other way to get people to do "the right thing", and this guys favored way, is to lower the heavy hand of government through force and coercion.
If that is what is required to take action in the face of cooperate and populace complacency, then so be it. It may be sad, but if nobody is willing to do anything, then that is sad in-itself. In either case I think its to little to late, we are doomed, enjoy life as we now know it, I don't expect it to last our lifetime.
How sad that the "heavy hand of government" matters so much to you, but the heavy (and bloody) hands of corporations and profiteers are a-ok. Is it just the words which bother you? If we called all corporations "governments", would you suddenly wake up and see the problem with lack of regulation? Yeesh.
Corporations are functioning at the behest of government with licenses to pollute. They are cut from the same cloth and collaborators in the problem. Its not as though governments are the good guys here, nor are they likely to become the good guys any time soon.

When it comes to wind it is simple:
