  • Great video & cool horns. Id love to have a set of these for when my neighbors decide to play their jungle music at 2 in the morning. Blast these outside their house at 7am.

  • holy shit. This rocks.

  • Now thats Realistc

  • Holy damn, this sounds amazing. First K5LA I really like, tbh.

  • sounds a little like a Coaster cabcar

  • sounds like 3002

  • Nice horn

  • All it's missing is the doppler effect.

  • God I HATE Watching These Vids Cause It Makes Me Want To Get Some SO Bad But I Dont Have The Money!!! Lol, Sounds Great Man, Hopefuly I Can Get Some SOON!

  • put that on a g scale train

  • @lordmattis94 yeah lets see how fast it goes around the track LOL!!!

  • Sweet This is Music to my ears

  • Is this off an Amtrak unit?

  • Where did you get this thing.

  • cp rail is useing more k5la horns then what they use to

  • Nice S&HC at 1:27!

  • how much did you end up winning the horns for on ebay?

  • Mount that to a Smart Car a scare people shitless! 5 Stars man!

  • i have two K5LA's from a CSX train imported to australia and i put it in my Volkswagen Bug from 1956 and i scared my friends at primary school with ti while i was driving

  • BNSF dashes use that.

  • you need to use a 5 Foot Section of 1Inch Inside Diameter hose to really make this horn sound good and atleast a 3/4inch ball valve. Trust me I have a few.

  • yours has an AWESOME!! sound to it,sounds like the F59PHIs and the DE/DM30ACs

  • the sound is simply majestic. I know the K5LA is everywhere, but this one had a real nice sound to it. A lot of K5LAs sound generic and boring but this doesn't. Do you know what year the trumpets were manufactured?

  • Thats a nicely tuned horn. Have fun with it man.

  • That is the greatest K5LA Ever! I dont like the squeal on the 50', it sounds like one of those surfliner f59PHIs

  • That right there is insanly hard core!

  • Let me have it, and I'll put it to good use at the Roosevelt

  • Glorious! Simply amazing! That is one of the best-sounding Nathan K5LA's I have ever heard!

  • Thanks, Really glad you like it. I am really pleased with it too. It seems VERY hard to come across one that is this crisp.

  • I, too, am a fan of the K5LA, and yours is one of the best two I have ever heard.

The other one can be found here on YT, driving just below Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, PA. Search YT for "Nathan K5LA at night".

In my opinion, neither is better than the other - they both sound awesome, but both have a distinct "personality" that sets the two apart.

  • Sounds awesome!

  • Thanks, Glad you like it.

  • This is what Amtrak uses isn't it?

  • yup

  • Yes, This is the horn that Amtrak prefers to use. Although, its very rare that you hear any that are this good any more.

  • @Rrxingrick That's true. CSX uses them too, but they don't do any maintenance on them, so they do not sound as good as your horns do.

  • Beautiful K5LA, Rick! 5*

  • Thanks. and thanks for the 5*****

  • WOW AWESOME!! hey btw, are you going to LAUPT tomorrow for Nat'l Train Day?

  • Are you? Danny Amtrakboy32 and I will be going on an Amtrak platform most likely.

  • realy? cool! what platform was it you'ld be on?

  • IDK i will SKYPE him.

  • dulce

  • sweet video!!!
