Very good comparison video. After owning the Canon SX1 IS since 2009, I have not found another camera in its class to date that could beat it in terms of audio quality. I have compared many different point and shoots as well as bridge cameras and nothing has even come close yet. I guess that for most people, having CD-quality audio in their videos is not a critical factor.
I noticed that on the bedside light you aren't getting any blue vertical lines, which seems to be a real problem with the FZ38. Perhaps the light wasn't quite bright enough to cause it?
All CCDs suffer from those lines (horizontal or vertical, depends on sensor orientation) when sensor gets overloaded with too much light, SX1 doesn't suffer from that (thanks to CMOS sensor) but the SX10/20 has the same issue...
In daylight, when chrome or paintwork on cars reflect light, it seems to give solid horizontal purple bars with the FZ38. I have not see it with footage from other cameras and wondered if it was a batch fault. I might have to live with it. The camera hasn't been in stock with my preferred vendors for almost five weeks, now. Any exciting alternatives on the horizon?
CMOS? cheap with good image quality? ... nope ... put you can try to reduce EV or other settings to reduce such bars effect, also sometimes light enter the lens but is not captured in sensor, that light might provoke those bars or glares and if you cover the lens from that light you may avoid some of it without reducing field of view... the bars exist in all CCD sensors (my mobile phone for example) but some are more sensitive than others... ...some old cheap mustek cameras had CMOS sensors XD
Panasonic did great in camera market this day, i think they make better point and shoot hen canon this day, their camcorder line up need some works. I tired of newbie only think sony and canon make good camera.

Hi, i use Ulead Video Studio 11, and I export with codec DivX (found in the Internet). It's very good quality in 1080 too.

Theres Not Way to get Rid of The Noise, and even if you do, you still have a different problem.... like fuzzy around shapes or something...
