I used to do 3D Max ages ago, why don't you try picking it up, it's not to difficult to learn.
You ought to try mixing up lots of different dynamic shots to make the fight look more dramatic. (ie) jumping over his tail and getting flamed, you can even add in some comedy stuff - the audience always like that.

Don't worry - I've thought of nearly everything for my entire movie - I just haven't done it all yet (sound, music, FX etc.) Just wanted to get a feel for how people see the movie. So far the response of viewers on Youtube and at home makes me think I should carry on and finish it. :-)

Have you tried asking Michael Thau?
Mr Thau is one of the best people to speak to about creating CGI. Especially CGI villains.

i was actually thinking about doing something like this... but the dragon model i have isnt evil... i would have to make some adjustments ;) ...
i just might be able to do something for you over the summer =\ cause im a bit buisy with my own projects...
