Cilic was just cooked in this match. He played like 3 straight 5 setter just to get to the SF, so it was a good performance to win the first set, but you could see he was tired. Murray just plays his normal game of offspeed, rolling, pushing shots, waiting for the other guy to miss. If they entered the SF with the same amount of playing time beforehand, Cilic wins it in three, just like he did at the 2009 US Open.
@Rafathaman94 '3-4 3-40 down the line...' Wtf are you serious?! Lol at how you get dig out individual points to try and strengthen a case saying Federer was luck at the french.
@Rafathaman94 Rafa is the king of clay in case your forgotten and he's younger. So Federer had a hard time winning RG. What you seem to forget Roger had made it to the RG final 4 times. Something I highly doubt Rafa could manage at the USO unless he receives cupcake draws.
@ArjunJethwa I agree that Rafa at the USO was quite lucky. Most of his opponents went through a 5 setter before hand. And Djokovic technically and statistically is an easier opponent than Federer. It took Djokovic 3 years of defeats including a straight sets defeat in 2009 before he could beat him. Where Federer had a strings of errors in the 10 match and he still took it to 5 sets and had match points. AO 11 match was a good example of Djokovic's potential but it still doesn't compare to Fed.
@Rafathaman94Lol I don't know whether to call you a determined opponent to wipe Murray off the earth or to call you a whiny little bitch.
Seriously it's ridiculous. You don't see me soiling every single Roddick video. I have tons of things I'm willing to say about RodDICK but I hold it back.
I don't even soil Monfils my most hated player because I can respect when he has a good victory and don't deny what he's done(which is little)
@Rafathaman94 So from looking it at your perspective, is Djokovic beating Federer and bypassing a few match points luck too at the US Open, thus easier for Nadal to win his career slam?
You just use the word luck around Murray at minor situations. But luck with Nadal at major situations? OH NO! Denial....
@Rafathaman94 I just remembered the Tsonga one but Murray would've fighted back = won in 5 OR just won the point straight after to even it. That wasnt even a major match point, it was a chance to get a set point. If you want a real luck situation then just read my second comment where luck has benefited Nadal grabbing the AO slam...
@Rafathaman94 ..Also, if you want to talk about luck lets give you a situation that involves your idol. Nadal vs Fed AO 09, 5th set..Only Federer's unforced errors and double fault gave Nadal the early break and the person in the crowd calling out at 5-2 40/40 meant that it got Nadal Championship Point (and won on an unforced error) ...see now that's blatant luck. But you'll obviously vigorously decline that!
@Rafathaman94 Rofl I dont even remember half those things, you are a bigger Murray fan then me. But I dont see how you can find an excuse for every element of Murray's career and call it luck. It's not luck, thats just how tennis works. You win some you loose some.
'Only if...Only if' - We could spend our WHOLE LIFE saying only if, 'only if Murray won set point at AO 2010' , but thats all in the past. I think it's just denial and like that user puts it just ignorance because you hate Murray.
@Rafathaman94 I have no idea about ownthelaws, never seen his name before. I dont think it's all luck, dont you think it includes an element of Murray actually playing well?
And in general, if someone reached a semi final for instance then obviously both players must've done something right to get to such a stage deep in a tournament. And the stronger player at the time would always be victorious, a semi final win wouldn't just be 'luck'...
@Rafathaman94 I'd call you a Youtube 'user friend' since I've spoken to you for some time now but with respect I have to agree with some of the stuff @ownthelaws and @foul01 says...Soiling Murray videos?! Murray's career 100% lucky? I dont understand why you hate him so much yet comment SO much Murray videos, this answer always bypasses your replies. if luck's all murray needed to destroy nadal on hardcourt on so many occasions then i guess your man rafa isnt that great either.
easy for you to say, all you do is kiss nadal's ass and rot on your sofa in front of the sports channel, murray went through the hardcore training and plays with the real deals on centre courts on a daily basis.
at least nadal knows and respects murray, who the fuck are you?
@Rafathaman94 getting your muscles to learn the shot. So before you go banging on about how murray is a pusher, and bear in mind that I am not a murray fan (and I do realise he lost to nadal at Wimby before you do anything gay), respect the game of tennis and what skills are actually required to play it, before you just slate every other player that isnt a left hander, who wears a bandanna, who grunts every time he hits a ball
@Rafathaman94 murray actually fashions a different technique to one he doesnt normally use, he actually says he practices that shot, if he ever gets in that situation. What nadal generally does, not all the time, but generally, he uses the same technique to hit different kinds of balls, that makes him as solid as a rock when it comes to getting the ball in. What a player like murray and fed do, s use different techniques, to hit different balls, which requires alot more skill in.....
@Rafathaman94 .....in that situation I have seen him many times try to hit a tweener lob, he either misses it, or the opponent puts it away (djoko paris 09, and del po US 09 as examples), if he ever hits a winner from it, everyone will suck on his nuts at how he ment to do it, when in fact it was slightly lucky because of the number of attempts and because he had no other choice (which is why feds tweener is not his greatest shot ever IMO) back to the point.....
@Rafathaman94 ....however, thats with my coach hitting the ball in a drill where i know its going next. With the absolute, upmost respect for your boys rafa......

@Sonic2710 Dkokovic has one of the best bh's in the world dude, healso got great defence and is a smart, tactical player. He's like the better, no-pushing,unannoying, non-screaming, with a slam version of Murray.
good point....its hard to compare them i guess. although i think murray will hold the uphand against nadal when its on hard court NOWDAYS.. Really hard to say coz Nadals achievements were all when he was fit and on clay mostly...i miss him!!! Oh well, you are right. Nadal is probably better in general...
@andy316800 Clearly Nadal is the more complete player - when you're missing as key a weapon as Murray is (the point-ending forehand) it's hard to say otherwise. But agreed Murray is still the better player on hardcourts. Andy also plays very well on grass, and their Wimbledon semifinal he was grossly unlucky - he won more points and was down 2 sets to love. Could've been the other way round. Shame he dropped serve after being up a break in the 3rd. Hope Soderling can beat Nadal again at the FO
cilic is similar to del potro. but there are subtle differences. cilic's footwork is more lighter and faster, but doesn't quite have the enormity of del potro's huge groundstrokes. but yet as del potro's shots are more huger and efficient, his footwork is not as good as cilics, as cilic is just a lil bit faster.
I dont agree....i think in general murray is a better player than nadal...(apart from clay)....
Murray is too good not to be a grand slam winner...but i think the people stand in front of him are just himself and federer.....As long as Federer plays well and quite healthy, its quite
difficult to see murray beat him in grand slams...
me too, but the way he runs that net cord shot and then wins the point, and in break point of the 2nd set after he had lost the first set of the australian open's semifinal..very important point and what a way to win it...
im pretty sure cilic would have romped murray, if he had more energy left with him. cauz he was really going toe to toe with murray for long periods of time during the match.
i doubt it cillic had 3 lucky net cords to get a break save a break back point in the first set then when murray hit a magical shot murray eased through cillic is a great player but he had some luck to get his lead
not really. i say murray got lucky. at 6-3 1-0 (0-30) on murrays serve according to cilic's perspective, id say cilic was on fire before his fatigue set in. and with that wrong choice of shot of lob by cilic in which murray got it back as a winner, it was enough to physically and mentally wear down cilic after that. murray was somewhat lucky to win i reckon. look at us open 2009 last year when they last met and cilic won 7-5 6-2 6-2. with power and precision, it breaks open murrays defences.
@BrotherTree1 You can tell Cilic is fatigued the whole match. After beating Tomic, that greasy little dick who pushes and sucks, in 5 and then del potro and roddick in back-back 5 setters he was exhausted. If Murray and Cilic's draws were reversed Cilic could have won the whole thing. And don't start callinbg me an idiot and going on about Fed, this is merely my specualtion. Anyway, the point is Cilic played back to back top 6 players with slams while Murray got aged journeyman. Cilic is a beast
@VerdascoFan i wont call u an idiot, cauz u are spot on mate. cilic can beat this faggot duck anyday when hes fresh. but those five setters he played were a positive thing for him cauz he got in as much match practice as possible, but at the cost of fatigue. but still, cilic i reckon, if he werent as fatigued and really really believed himself in this match, he woulda fucked this duck in like straight sets or 4 sets at least, like in US open.
@BrotherTree1 yeah. Neither cilic nor murray has been a big factor after the AO. Cilic has made some finals and murray made the FO quarters but that`s pretty much it. Berdych is the breakout star of this year and is playing sick. any thoughts on his chances at the US OPen-nadal`s worst slam(because of the timing and surface) and when Fed is not in his prime anymore
@VerdascoFan i reckon nadal and federer both have a good shot at the us open this year. rafa will head into us open fresh and rejuvenated for like the first time in his career ever, and federer will have also gotten good rest and some wise advice from his new 'test' coach. i predict that both wont disappoint at this years us open, but who knows, its still too early to say. but yeah berdych is one of the dudes to look out for; hes on fire. soderling is also worth a look too.
@VerdascoFan sorry, *duck* is actually meant to be *dick*. this is also referred to as: "puckdog", "ugly teethed fucker", "joke", "pusher", "ps3 over hot g/f kim sears", "IQ of 2", "overrated fuck", "CMON - shut the fuck up; only does that during opponents unforced errors", "wont win a grand slam", "cry more during loss in finals", and "has baby sized penis".
@BrotherTree1 why the fuck do so many people have a personal vendetta against Murray? You don't know him, so why not shut the fuck up? Just a thought.
Cilic was just cooked in this match. He played like 3 straight 5 setter just to get to the SF, so it was a good performance to win the first set, but you could see he was tired. goblingrenade2120 1 year ago
To be honest, I think this is the player list of skill, and that includes consistency:
1.) Federer (great skill, best consistency, forehand, good defense, one of the best backhands, awesome volleyer)
2.) Nadal (one of the most effective forehands, good backhand, not too good bh offense, also good volleyer, best defense and speed)
3.) Djokovic (good serve, forehand, speed)
4.) Murray (crap forehand, one of the best bh's, good recovery and speed)
5.) Either Potro or Roddick

not really. i say murray got lucky. at 6-3 1-0 (0-30) on murrays serve according to cilic's perspective, id say cilic was on fire before his fatigue set in. and with that wrong choice of shot of lob by cilic in which murray got it back as a winner, it was enough to physically and mentally wear down cilic after that. murray was somewhat lucky to win i reckon. look at us open 2009 last year when they last met and cilic won 7-5 6-2 6-2. with power and precision, it breaks open murrays defences.
