I just read an article in Otaku magazine that says it takes place 3 years after end of eva. Apparently shinji is riding a super eva. The pic looks a lot like a mix of his and asuka's eva. No asula? Nope. I thought she would survive. I mean she did but they don't mention her. They do say there will be more girls.

it does NOT take place 3 yrs. after if you paid any attention Anno remade the series into 3 movies and added new evas, char., and story or an alternate ending to the series

i believe it to be a remake of the original series! they are just adjusting the story for a wider audience since the other storyline was quite harder to follow.

... no, it's not a 'new part', the Rebuild films are an alternate reality, the first, you are (not) alone, just covers the first six episodes as the series did, but the rest of the films will have their own original stories.

What I read on Wikipedia is that there will be 4 movies, 1st was this Spetember, then the next 3 next year, spaced out over 3 or 4 months. I don't know if it has actually happened yet though.

its Rebuild of eva, and they have already released the first one, and its a retelling of the story, and an original movie for #4.. the movie that everyone is talking about is going to be done by effects company; Weta studios, the same people that did LOTR, and King Kong, but like i said, theres no director, and no studio for it (fox, dreamworks, lionsgate, etc.)
