A polite reminder folks, that I do NOT own either layout in this video (they are the property of their respectable clubs), so please stop asking me questions on how the stuff is modelled. Please read the annotated disclaimer before making comments such as 'how did you model that', 'what paints did you use' etc. As much as I would love to own one of the layouts, it is sadly not to be.
Comments describing the activity on the layouts are still acceptable. Thanks for your co-operation.
Depends what size and what scale you want to model (not exactly good on price ranges unfortunately). These layout's don't belong to me by the way. Thanks for commenting!
i commented on this before but they layouts are soo realistic. Would love to see them in action one day. I saw the bee lane one in a model railway magazine last year and i just remembered it for some reason lol. They are both excellent model layouts. good capture
im pretty certain that 1st layout was in my 1st ever british raiwaly moddeling magazine (nov 1995). its 2009 now and am 22 and i still have no layout. cheers 4 putting these videos all the best!
wow both nice layouts! i saw bee lane in a model railway magazine in november. I think both of them look amazing with the overhead wires - it looks soo realistic. I'm in the process of designing a layout at the moment. Its not so big sadly as there isn't much space. Its gonna be a shelf layout but im a bit stuck from there!
lol when i first read your name i thought it said themasturbater lol how wrong i was anyway its a fantastic layout i know its not yours but i envy you for being their to film it
hobbiefreak, the sentiment is gladly appreciated. However, I do not own these layouts; they are the work of others. This was just something I recorded to my camera that's all. Thanks for commenting!
thats k lol. i like the pendolino and class 60. i gna get em soon hopefully. i also like sir nigel gresley now as i saw it the other day. lol. i got a rubbish railway but have always loved to see the big ones like those two and hopefully will hav one like that one day. gna upgrade to digital soon but nt sure how to do it lol
Excellent layouts, both of them :). I also like the MkIII DVT as well which I believe is the Hurst Models version ;). Here is 5 stars for a great video mate and I have subscribed to your channel with my new account as well :).
yes hornby did make a virgin driver van trailer but it isnt made eny more the only one they do is one anglia driver van trailer ive herd dapol are producing oo guage mk3 dvts in virgin trains one anglia ews and if they sell they are thinking of producing the dvts in cargo d br blue as seen been used on hull trains also unbranded virgin trains i hope this info helps you i got the info off the rail express website ps they will cost 25-30 quid and feature detailing parts ps mint video
I'm also a fan of the 50's to 90's stuff, but modern image modelling seem to get better, with new and detailed models from the likes of Hornby or Bachmann, coming out every time. These layouts prove the point, and were top notch. Cheers FlyingEnglishman!
Very Nice, The Pendolino looked good from a distant, I wonder if it was the Crappy Hornby thing or the Rubbish (Well the drive system was Crap)Dapol thing. DCC Sound HST was the beast on the layout, Very nice.
wow cant believe newmills is still running i rember it in brm nov 95

That 90 under the wires looks amazing the sparking makes it all so genuine excellent catch Dave 5*87006.
87006 2 years ago 2
It does indeed look realistic. Would've looked better if the forthcoming DVT from Hornby was running on that set as well... Cheers Tom!

was there a live band playing there?
menzoman 2 years ago 2
I don't think there was a live band at the time; it's generally the background chatter of the crowds. Cheers.

theamateurbasher 3 years ago
did you rubn the train with the pantograph with power from the overheads or is it just for show?
bronzeonion 3 years ago
I think its just for show; I don't own these layouts. Thanks bronzeonion
theamateurbasher 3 years ago
The Pendolino at the start cannot pick up current from the overhead wires, so for safety reasons, I cannot imagine the wires being powered.
dancpfc 3 years ago
you have a very nice layout there its very moden and up to date with trains and the overhead wires with the sparks
