@Neutral1 The original half life was given so much appraise for its convincing atmosphere and plot and also just how the game plays in general from the small scale yet epic (even today) firefights and breaks between action with puzzle-solving components. Seeing that you seem to like more fast-paced games you probably wouldn't like Half life, but then again your an old school gamer so who knows. Either way its an ancient game and its like 8 bucks on steam so just buy it and see for urslef :D

without any doubts, this is one of the best games ever made ! even for todays standards, it is still epic. Who cares about graphics ? I personally hate "realistically" looking games, Half Life is EXTREMELY fun to play, great story, great gameplay, and graphics ? They're good enough. I should try and replay this game at some point.

I like the Half-Life series but it doesn't stand up to Halo and Call of Duty. The story doesn't seem all that deep. Play Bioshock if you want an only solo game. HL's more boring compared to these three. You just go from room to room and it never ends. Still can't wait for HL3 though. Left 4 Dead 2 is their best game

You can't believe how awesome it was to visit Valve HQ, when i was on my trip in the US. Wow. I saw this 1:1 scale Level 1 Turret, got a free gift bag, with 3 codes for Left 4 Dead 2, Garrys Mod and Portal. I also got to touch the Valve. AND I MET THE GOD GABE NEWELL. Me and my friends were like, "Oh my god, holy crap dude.. Is it really you?" We saw all this cool stuff, like the Portal Gun from Portal and this awesome MP7 from Half-Life 2 ! The gift bags also included a Valve T-Shirt and a cap.

Well, he pretty much admitted that he was too lazy to develop games for the PS3. The only reason his games come out on 360 now is because the 360 is very similar to a PC, so he's used to developing for that type stuff already, but he doesn't want to take the time and learn new ways of developing a game.

Plus he's a jerk in most interviews I've seen him in. And his games have used the same engine for six years now, Time to upgrade the graphics.

It's just an opinion, though.

And the source engine has been kept alive that long because of the mod community who make spectacular free games from it. So its not really their decision. I love these features, but G4 fucking suck at editing. So when production was going poorly, G4's way of demonstrating that was to play Half-Life gameplay footage with the colours reversed and tinted green? Why not just use footage from the old HL trailers, or the old E3 gameplay footage, back when it looked like ass? These shows are great but G4 come off as bloody incompetent in most matters.
