Do you know it they have the same fx. Is the Headphone practice amp just a small amp or a interface. Thanks again for all your help.

PS, I want to donate to your website, do you have a secure link? I also would like to place a link on my web site to your main web page with your permission.

    My site is denvergruve.

  • @denvergruve Korg px4d headphone practice amp with fx

  • You are awesome. I like the way you present the lessons. It is so much about the bass and the lesson and not you or your personality. I find it so helpful and refreshing. Thanks and keep the lessons coming.

  • Really lovely, soulful piece of music - your style and feel is superb. Thanks for a really great series of demonstrations and lessons.

  • It's sad to see how some great musicians don't get famous while some mediocre musicians do become famous

  • GREAT

  • A man goes to a pacific island. He notices the constant sound of drumming. He asks a native how long the drumming will go on. The native says "very bad when drumming stops." Later that day the drumming is still going on. He asks another native when the drumming will stop. "Very bad when drumming stops," he says, and runs off. After a couple of days the man had enough. He grabs a native, slams him against a tree, and shouts, "What happens when the drumming stops?" The native replies, "Bass solo."

  • His face would make chuck norris cry =[

  • what effects are you using?

  • Are you gay?

  • gay as fuck

  • king206

  • Thanks for this, you rock! I've been playing bass for years but never bothered to learn any scales. Keep the videos coming.

  • When I watch this video and glance up at your face...you're looking back...it's kind of scary. It's like you're watching me watching you...and it's freaky.

  • very nicely done and i strongly urge u to keep it up! :)

  • You look into the camera like it was your ex boyfriend, but kick ass bass solo

  • WTF?????

  • tightttttttttttttttt

  • I allways wonder how you would learn these scales... I know the complete A minor scale, but I learned it by time. Isn't there some kind of method to learn the scales faster?

  • @Breadfan866 Now you mention it, my recent uploads are scale related, check them out

  • @MarloweDK Yeah I just checked them out, good lessons! Thank you!

  • @MarloweDK certainly is... its called the CAGED method...

  • @Breadfan866 major scales start on the bass note like "a" and these are the steps, one fret is a half step 2 frets a whole step. so it would be Whole, WHole, Half, Whole, Whole, Whole, Half. that goes for any major scale. for a it would be A,B,C#,D,E,F#,G#,A if i am not mistaken

  • @MrAHand Thank you, but I kind of already knew that. It's just that, how would you practice these sort of scales? But I saw some good tips on one of Mr. Marlowe's videos.

  • @Breadfan866 ohh yea, hes great at the bass ive learn a couple things from him to

  • he took his porn bass out of the closet for this

  • Now we know who and how music for porn movies are created.

  • question: i know that is a late 60's early 70's fender jazz bass, but are you running it dry or using effects? and are the knoms cranked or??

  • its cool

  • dang dude awesome tone and playing

  • MarloweDK: One of best videos of your recordings i have seen.

  • I will love it this Guy and (Uriah Duffy) Jam in a song

  • very good!

Its nice to hear actual music done on bass rather than a lot of slapping and popping!

  • @freak49 Yea, slapping and popping is good, but I feel its definitely overrated, you can't play slap in every type of music, like this backing track for instance, if somebody played slap bass over it, it would sound terrible

  • Very nice!!! You might as well have been playing a fretless, it was so smooth. thanks for posting.

  • Nice.

I just came on 'tube cuz been trying to work with this guy who doesn't understand bass as other than always on the lowest octave. Meanwhile guitar is supposed to be full of variation. Tired of that routine, but i'll die before it does.

This piece really hit the spot for my partic thirst at this mood.

  • your tone is so perfect. It was like heaven Awesome job

  • SWEET SOLOING MARLOWE!!! You are truly an inspiration to all of us bassists! Just keep the videos coming!!! I really need to learn theory. Any book/video recommendations or do u think I should seek a teacher for lessons? Thanks!

  • Check out his site playbassnow ( . ) com, he's got it all on there

  • Thanks Duragon910. I will check that out asap! Marlowe is awesome!!!

  • No problem man. He's my #1 source right now for bass material so let me know if you find some good stuff, I'd like to get some more.

  • Nice playing. Love your videos.

  • i enjoyed this video, thanks for the ideas.

  • Marlowe, this is what I've been look'n for. Keep'n it simple, as it should be. thanks for all your lessons.

  • I could listen to this stuff all day, I swear. I play the bass, and i'm not bad at it (in technique, that is), but I have a hard time improvising. Could someone give me some pointers? I would be more than thankful!

  • you are one smooth bassist. you got soul!

  • ...cool playing...some nice major ideas.

  • wish I could take a few personal lessons from you

  • Any tips for using all the strings to solo on, Marlowe? Just a lot of practice on pentatonic scales or repetition? Thanks, and love the sound of that bass. One of my faves ;)

  • Comment removed

  • NIce nice!! wish I can do that!!

  • great! Thanks for your job!

  • when im like 35 i want to be that awesome playing bass

  • beautiful!

  • Favorite video so far, I love the ideas here.

  • tasty.

  • It's so simple, yet so masterful. At some points I did indeed think I was listening to Jaco. Keep cranking out these incredibly useful videos! ;)

  • love it

  • great groove ala 'jaco' !

  • You better stop these videos or else WMG is gonna have your vids disabled because they created the pentatonic scale and you're in copyright infringement!! LOL J/K Great to see you back and keep the vids up. They're always a huge inspiration.

  • Hahaha, great comment.

  • Lol, thx

  • Your tone here is godlike. this might be asking a lot but please tell me how you get it, like what bass what amp what effects, and how much they coste.

    Thank you

  • @MarloweDK do you play in a band?

  • @Midnightpitbull2 yes, i play in several local bands

  • @MarloweDK do you have any site i can go to- to listen?

  • @Midnightpitbull2 To listen?

  • @MarloweDK yeah, do you have any recordings of any of your bands uploaded where i could listen to them?

  • the first few notes of the first example you played are the notes from a jaco pastorius song, i forget which song it is, but its weird how things like that seem to come up repeatedly in music, its cool.

  • You mean continuum? I thought exactly the same; well same scale maybe? Haha. Enjoi marlowe the jaco! and LOL @ refinedbass and the WMG thing! Great!

  • thats pretty cool marlowe

  • Beautiful.

  • Hey Marlowe do you use a little Reverb or some Effect for your Bass here ?

  • yes some reverb

  • I can hear a bit of continuum in there ^^

  • The melody in Continuum is - based on the Major pentatonic and Major scale

  • YES i just posted a comment saying that i new that it was from some song that jaco did and i couldnt remember, this was the one.

  • heh, it really is not "from" continuum. As Marlowe said, continuum is based on the major pentatonic and major scale so its from those more correctly.

But it did indeed remind me of continuum at the start.

  • @xiz90

    Yea, I ditto this.

  • oh yeah

  • Cooer
