Thank's for the reply. I just started playing the bass @ 55yrs old. Your lessons will help this old man to play someday. I have a Korg px5d but can't find the same tone on it. Do you know it they have the same fx. Is the Headphone practice amp just a small amp or a interface. Thanks again for all your help.
PS, I want to donate to your website, do you have a secure link? I also would like to place a link on my web site to your main web page with your permission.
You are awesome. I like the way you present the lessons. It is so much about the bass and the lesson and not you or your personality. I find it so helpful and refreshing. Thanks and keep the lessons coming.
A man goes to a pacific island. He notices the constant sound of drumming. He asks a native how long the drumming will go on. The native says "very bad when drumming stops." Later that day the drumming is still going on. He asks another native when the drumming will stop. "Very bad when drumming stops," he says, and runs off. After a couple of days the man had enough. He grabs a native, slams him against a tree, and shouts, "What happens when the drumming stops?" The native replies, "Bass solo."
Awesome video. I just have one question, where can i get backing/rhythm ttacks like the one u are using in this video? Thanx for sharing your talent and knowledge, it has helped me a bunch!!!

Marlowe, trying to learn this vid note for note. That's how fking beautiful I think it is. If only I had your teaching's when I was beginning, then I wouldn't be a 40 looser trying comp licks in my parents basement.
Hey Marlowe, love you vids mate keep them up please, Is it just me or are you kind of..frowning? because when i play really mellow songs on my bass or guitar i sometimes, frown but,but i dont move my eyebrows just my mouth.
@MarloweDK Very very true..I do it without realising lol. But yeah feeling the music man, love your stuff please keep it up i started playing bass to you, not even joking i heard you and i was like..Wow ok im getting a bass and im so glad i did, i havn't played my guitar much since lool
so 2 things went into my mind as i saw this... my first thought had some sarcasm in it and said "oh, your cool!" the second one was "i gotta learn this!!!!" wanna post how?
When I watch this video and glance up at your face...you're looking back...it's kind of scary. It's like you're watching me watching you...and it's freaky.
I allways wonder how you would learn these scales... I know the complete A minor scale, but I learned it by time. Isn't there some kind of method to learn the scales faster?
@Breadfan866 major scales start on the bass note like "a" and these are the steps, one fret is a half step 2 frets a whole step. so it would be Whole, WHole, Half, Whole, Whole, Whole, Half. that goes for any major scale. for a it would be A,B,C#,D,E,F#,G#,A if i am not mistaken
@MrAHand Thank you, but I kind of already knew that. It's just that, how would you practice these sort of scales? But I saw some good tips on one of Mr. Marlowe's videos.
@freak49 Yea, slapping and popping is good, but I feel its definitely overrated, you can't play slap in every type of music, like this backing track for instance, if somebody played slap bass over it, it would sound terrible

MarloweDK 2 years ago
YES i just posted a comment saying that i new that it was from some song that jaco did and i couldnt remember, this was the one.
radio213 2 years ago
heh, it really is not "from" continuum. As Marlowe said, continuum is based on the major pentatonic and major scale so its from those more correctly.
But it did indeed remind me of continuum at the start.
