will this work with a crystal ipod touch case?

with the car charger having 2 ports, you can plug in your ipod touch and also your battery. will charge faster than having battery plugged into ipod and then plugged into wall or car, cause it has to charge the ipod first before it starts charging the Battery. i think that. i don't know if it can charge both when the battery is plugged into the ipod.... wouldn't it take just as long anyways to charge both at same time cause it has to split the power in half for both to get some.
