But the Americans are armed, and CCG helos can't hoist, only CAF can. USCG are military so they also enforce the law on the water (hence needing to be armed). CCG is mostly for environmental response, search and rescue, and buoy maintenance. It's kinda sad really, since most of them would be more than happy to take a law enforcement role (their crazy fast RHIBs would be good for chasing!).
