  • Please watch my story"TIFFANY LEBOUEF SEEKS JUSTICE". I have documents to prove my innocence yet no one wants to even acknowledge it. My life has been destroyed.

Look up PRISON STOCKS....very lucrative....WHO ARE THE INVESTORS???

I HOPE NOT THE JUDGES AND POLITICIANS.......

  • I like how this Turk guy sees the government abuse its power for the interests of mega-corporations and immediately jumps to the conclusion that privatization is the problem. Turkman, how do you think corporations get all that power to begin with? Yep-- you guessed it-- from their rich buddies in Washington.

  • There's a film called Fortress that's about a private prison in the near future. I never would have though that the reality shown in it could be this close to being real. Crepy

  • PLEASE LET PRIVATIZATION BE ALLOWED!!!

  • @jackrabbitnw67 How would it make things better?

  • The staff gives a force there on my channel to see my class on Brazilian penitentiary system talk about education and work. I'm not political and never thought, but at least you got to understand that unfortunately the elite, rich never locked !!!!!!! Gentlemen, we're going to fix the prison system're chaotic. Without work, education, prison is idle this is Brazil.

  • Corrupt corporations are no more or less dangerous than a corrupt government. Anytime there is "power", the potential for corruption exists. It doesn't matter much who runs them, what matters more is, "What are the checks and balances?" Anyone remember that concept? Get rid of the checks and balances put there to keep the powerful from become tyrannical, guess what happens?

    ...

Looks like people forgot why this country was supposedly founded to begin with...

  • The G.E.O. Group is formally known as Wackenhut.

  • If they can "buy" Republican politicians

--then they can obviously buy Democrats for half the price

Frankly, I wish the corporations were running the country

    -Because right now in America

-we've got our head up our ass

    -They'd privatize everything

-and educate us to fill positions

-unlike education today, which is a joke

    -merit would mean something again

-America would go straight to the top

  • I found my purpose in life.To imprison all americans.

  • where have I heard that story before where certain people become illegal and sent to prison?? OW Yeah, Nazi Germany!! I feel bad for the US, your politicians are totally fucked up..

  • Ugh. Why is he equating more people in prison to privatization? Blame the corrupt politicians.

  • @TheSWTORMMO the prisons are privately owned

  • @ufo5147 The laws are publicly decided.

  • @ufo5147 not when the corporations own the politicians

  • @ufo5147 Well that's definitely a problem, but that doesn't change the fact that politicians make the laws.

  • Enlighten my communist mind...is this 'free market'?

  • just got our first privatised prison in the UK yay for us!!

  • @DopeMcDoperson the prisons are privatly run, but tax payers pay for the guards and inmates ect.... FUCked up aint it

  • @irishmonkey640 You likely paid to have the building built too. I bet for more than it actually cost to build.

  • Search for Mark Ciavarella.

  • @DopeMcDoperson yes they cost money, but not nearly as much as they pull in when consider investments in private prisons as well as the labor they do inside prison. it's basically a system of slavery, plain and simple.

  • 22 people are invested in private prisons? on a serious note, there needs to be more conversation about this issue. it is probably the single biggest issue in this country in my opinion.

  • Would've been better without Cenk.

  • @DopeMcDoperson Apparently you fail to realize that you still pay for their incarceration with your tax dollars. The truth of the matter is that you're paying for incarcerating these inmates regardless of whether it's state, federal or private sector. Another truth of the matter is that these private prisons aren't even necessarily that "private" because most of them get government grants to set up & run these prisons & privatization is only on the peripheral level.

  • the wealthy people pulling the strings do not need rednecks to oversee plantations. This time, you aren't part of the deal; your job is done, and they wanna put you on the plantation with the very people you call n*****s ( and any other group you think you're better than). Fifty billion dollars worth of labor jobs are in private prisons because $.19 an hour is certainly better than minimum wage+ to a corporation.

  • These people think this is new? No. The 13th Amendment leaves slavery open as punishment for a crime; hence Jim Crow laws. This has ALWAYS been a reality for blacks. Fast forward to Reagan who signed the prisons over to private parties who wanted them. Why? The coming New World Order. They knew then labor jobs would be leaving USA and crime would go up because more people would get desperate. Hello poor whites. Yeah you too. The new slave is in India, China, or in jail in the US, and this time

  • We need a real Progressive party

  • love her tone "crazzy" good report thanks.

  • Half the population of the country consists of felons or sociopaths. Yes, private prisons. More of them. A lot more.

  • ~• XCELLENT REPORT TyT •~

Sadly, over 60% of Obama's Campaign $ came from Wall Street. Now imagine D % of $ 2 Senators & Congressmen. TRUST, they DO GETT IT!

    ~

  • ~

Now, as far as prisoners, ever wonder why D specific focus on D ILLEGALS? As foreign captives in D state jail systems they R WARDS of D FED Gov. Which means D FEDS get 2 cover D cost of their incarceration. Ergo Aryan-Zona's incentive 2 create laws that would land more illegals in prison so D state can Xtract more $ from D FED Gov.

    ~•~

  • @NlKKElsix ENGLISH, motherfucker! DO YOU SPEAK IT?!

  • @PearceCTV What the fuck does that have to do with privatizing prisons? Pay attention son. Nowhere in this entire thread have I stuck up for any part of our government, Bush, or Bush Junior, which is what I call Obama. The same "collapse" happens like clockwork because it's a planned skim off the top, just like the mob skimming a casino. They just have us trained to believe it's inevitable.

  • All of this trouble started in or around 1965 with this. The government should get out of business, the government is holding back business. The business waist money because of regulations. The government should sell the power plants to private business they can run it cheaper.

Some how, most people believed it. They put pressure on the government to deregulate. If you asked some of people to prove it. The best any one say was the business know tricks to do it cheaper. bullshit.

  • No they "get it" completely. Democrats know that they can use the Republicans as their scapegoat and "get forced" to push through policies that help Wall Street and the Republicans do likewise. It's the people that don't get it and think they are voting in someone other than Wall Street.

  • so who should i vote for Tyrants (republicans) or Commies (democrats) Pick-pocket mutherfuckers!

  • so who should i vote for Tyrants (republicans) or Commies (democrats)

  • Prisons should never be private.

Prisons should not be run on the basis of profit.

The point of prisons is to only partially to punish people for their crimes, but it should also try to rehabilitate people and protect the public. If more people going into jail for shorter crimes and come out as a heavy criminal then the prison has not protected the public in my opinion. Which happens when its only run on the basis of private profits...

  • @Lobos222

Do you know why we have private prison it was cheaper then gov build and run prison at least that is what all most every one said. Which is bull shit economics. Business have to make profit or they will not stay in business. Gov on the other hand does not need to make a profit. The gov person in charge of prisons does not get paid 3 Million a year. Where as ceo seem to need 3 Million a year.

  • Great rant Cenk, and oh so right.

  • @Nebbyker

The end of the rant was fucking hilarious!

"Is that enough of a rant that you triggered?"...ROFL!

  • CENK. You should watch the documentary

    College for profit.

A great documentary, that centers around the same script

privatize College, but only The College that are marked with Taxpayer approved.

So the students pay for their classes by loans they take from the government.

you charge them 6x times higher then the average college class.

and you only give them online courses on the internet.

Thats how you make a good profit.

  • IVE GOT AN IDEA

    how to become like them

Step 1: Find a taxpayer funded places. (Colleges, school, jails etc..)

Step 2: Buy up the place, and privatize it

Step 3: Now find your victims, the more victims you get the more taxpayer money you get from the government.

Step 4: Now just chill back, hire some people, and claim that you are hiring americans.

Step 5: use 25% of your money to buy politicians.

GOOD LUCK with your newfound business.

  • HOLD ON A SECOND. Are you fucking kidding me? We literally have privately owned prisons in the US? REAL PEOPLE thought this could POSSIBLY BE A GOOD IDEA? I assumed, like any sane person who never knew of this, prisons were government run public institutions. I assumed the people of the Us weren't POSSIBLY this stupid. I'm done. I'm fucking moving somewhere not the US. America? You are the dead.

  • @ZKoftherebellion Lol.. suprise suprise

if you wanna move to the US, just figure out a way to rob the taxpayer money,

is up for grabs anyway, come up with a private something

and make sure you get paid alot of money for doing your shiat.

  • @TheWALOS

    1. No idea is entirely original.

    2. I have heard that the Venus Project is communist (mostly from crazed capitalists), but i agree it has similarities.

    3. Dont get me wrong I dont hate communism intrinsically (I'm NOT Sen. McCarthy), but I do know a little about Marx. He wanted to enpower the working class. He of course did not know about 21st technology and the power of automation.

    4. Jacque Fresco said the communists banished him for his ideas.

  • @supercool514

    1. Fresco has innovative ideas in terms of the technology the hypothetical society would use, but his ideas for organization, economics, politics, education, and agriculture are not original in the slightest.

    2. TVP is basically Communism with robots; again, read Marx.

    3. More than power for workers, he wanted equal share and equal opportunity for all; sounds familiar.

    4. Then those people weren't Communists.

  • america just dropped to 22nd of least corrupt governments. the irony is it's the states in 1977 who introduced a bill banning bribery and espousing accounting transperancy... slowly but surely we are become a third world country. ever since the reagan revolution of privatization, wage stagnation, (union busting) deregulation, and tax cuts for the upper income levels. you've heard the expression "absolute power absolutely corrupts"? well, let's just keep redistributing wealth to the few.

  • I have a teabagger facebook friend that likes to debate political articles that i post. When i posted this vid, he (of course) disagreed, and said jails are to soft, and that we need privatized concentration camps (like hitler's). I assume he's the next shooter at a rally or shopping mall. The stupidity of a teabagger is astounding.

  • @TrustKovacss it is from the fucking fluoride in the water.... i heard it all my life and dismissed it as crazy but after i realized 9 / 11 was a huge cover up and corporate news is a bunch of propagandist liars.... i gave it a fresh look.

FUCKING FLUORIDE IS MAKING AMERICANS DUMB AND UN HEALTHY SHEEP

  • No 911 call should ever be valid whiteout three witnesses

  • Comment removed

  • leave the Mexicans alone they are our friends! We can use them to help rebuild our nation and that is shortly going to happen or the people are going to rise and yes we will need the Mexicans help! As this military industrial complex has lost its way.

  • 'It is this problem that the courts are challenge with and why they came up with the witnesses in a court of law. "With which is good 'OK people but to not ever get to the courts without three either, 'In as being this 911 liars age is wrong, 'And this is the heart of the problem Oboma!

  • Our world is a complex venture if you go threw it's complexity you might find yourself in prison for almost nothing and this should end 'The rule of law is not meant for the blind to follow blindly, 'You must take your blinders of and use your mind, to know of the secret still places hidden from most eyes.

  • ummmm, anyone remember that case of the kids sent to juvie by a crooked judge who was paid off by the company that ran the place? They got paid for every kid locked up, so they paid the judge to lock up as many kids as possible.

  • @OktoberSunset I remember that. It was a featured story in Capatalism, A love Story. Darth Cheney and AZ Gov. Brewer both have financial dealings with the private prison system. They are starting to imprison people for being in debt again.

  • @OktoberSunset Damn americans have a short term memory,

and that was featured in a Michael Moore documentary i think,

Kids where lockd up for no reason,

  • Private Prisions for Beaucrats & Bankers plz.

  • i love when Cenk does that snookie voice

  • Same with healthcare industry. More sick people = more profits = sickest generation in history.

  • @fight2Bfree Rather, it's more prescriptions for things that don't need it = more medicine sold = more profits = most painkiller addicts in history. Though of course they also recommend surgery and such faster, and try to do the surgery's as cheaply as possible to make as much money as possible.

  • Why do you think the prison population of the US is the highest in the world? The US only has 3% of the worlds total population yet the highest imprisoned population. It is called SLAVE LABOR for private prison corporations!

  • Yes, we should. So I can create my own version of UFC and make money out of it.

  • I think you should separate channels covering politics from your other ridiculous shows covering celebrity gossip and pop culture. Your political shows are great...Cenk should run for senator and eventually president. But I hate subscribing to your channel and have to delete all the other crap that you guys put up. What are you gonna cover next? Movie and video game reviews? pfff haaa

  • @arminvb05 these are clips taken from a longer show. they cover everything from sports to pop culture to politics. i agree, i am a viewer because of their political coverage but the other stuff is usualy very entertaining and interesting.

  • @lily2stinky true thats the reason they have a long show for people who like their style of covering politics, gossip, celebrities etc and the chopped down versions for the more fussy ones and we still get many people complaining.

  • @lily2stinky but then if this guy was complaining about the long show covering various topics then how come we have his comment posted on a short clip one? ne way .. :S

  • @arminvb05 normally if you read the titles you can sort out the topics based on your choice of assortments, do you complaint about petrol pumps selling chewing gums?

  • Best TYT ever

  • @UnderseaCaveman

you're wrong man, they're all the best TYT ever.

  • *Now was that enough of a rant that you triggered!*

Had me rolling man keep it up TYT!

  • Of course it is idiotic that private prisons are allowed to exist. Anyone who supports them either owns one, is employed by one, or just has not thought the implications of having prisons for private profit, the very least of which is that it is a form of identured servitude (slavery).

Also it should be illegal for state prisons to allow their inmates to be counted in the official census of the towns in which they are imprisoned.

  • For more information about how private prisons fuck all of us over, watch American Drug War: The Last White Hope.

  • Notice how privatization favors money over actual people?

  • Cenk's impersonation of rich folks is funny as SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO!

  • Prohibition creates the most prisoners. Legalize!

  • HELL NO YOU CAN"T!!!

  • @wickedman6 I wonder when the majority will figure out they're all republican...

  • We had a private youth detention center in PA and they found out the judge was locking up everyone and illegally lengthening sentences after they were already locked up. As a result children were locked up 2 to 3 times their sentences. They caught the company and the judge making deals under the table and shut it down. Capitalism at its finest.

Look on the bright side, if the majority are in prison, the rich are going to have to pay taxes to keep us there!!!

  • One day this perverted version of capitalism will destroy us all.

  • If we turned loose all of the people imprisoned for violating our insane marijuana laws and replaced them with every government official and Wall Street corporate thief, we would be in a much better world.

  • @MrHomeChef and need more prisons(there are alot of cops and lawyers)

  • @bdhwowq1try Here here!

  • @MrHomeChef beautiful thought

  • @MrHomeChef as sarcastic as u sound i think your 100% right. i'd rather have those pot heads running our country too.

  • @truthisouttheir I'm as serious as a heart attack.

  • This video is absolutely fantastic. <3

  • @wickedman6

    Double agent! D:

  • Agree with Cenk, this is all about the conservative idea to privatize everything but continue to fund it with public money. This is corporate socialism and both parties are at fault. This is why lobbying MUST be made ILLEGAL, why political campaigns and elections need to be PUBLICLY funded, why the elections laws must be changed to give third parties a chance, why the wars need to be STOPPED. Everything bad that is happening is related to government being taken over by corporations! Dah!

  • @TheUSMetalhead You saved me a whole lot of typing. It'll never happen though because the level of idiocy in this country is astounding.

  • Once a ruling is made, A judge can't just go and change the past ruling, all rulings for similar crimes HAVE to be the same of very similar, if the legal precedence has been set a Judge CANNOT change it.

  • all the while you bash this incident and i applaud liberals for calling a spade a spade for once, you fail to see the role of government to pass over-sweeping regulations like this, basically criminalizing anything they want at the wimp of their will? this is the whole point everybody who is not you(liberals) make about there being too many laws and regulations because MOST of them are made precisely because someone had an interest in it.. good you're learning. faster please.

  • And I mean an actual private prison, not one funded by the government, which isn't really all that private.

  • How would a private prison profit?

  • @JoeyBieg money from government.

  • @HIMYNAMEISEVAN Philippines

  • Remember this? YES WE CAN..... yes we can! My father had a dream! blablablablabla... And i know that when the next election speeches come there will be similar rhetoric and people will go orgasmic again..

  • Instead of locking up the illegal immigrants we should ship them back to wherever they came from and seal up our borders!!!! DUH!!!!

  • Outstanding Cenk! As always, TYT brings rational thought to the table. Unfortunately, politicians will say "Meh!" and the sheep will go "meeeeeeeee!".

  • If democrats plan is to stay in middle, the obvious plan for GOP would be to go as extreme as possible... duh! It is too much of a common sense for Obama to not know...

Correct response to republicans going extreme is to go extreme yourself. That is the only way stuff going out in the middle.

  • Cenk, I love when you rant!

  • "Democrats don't understand the problem.." HA! They are just playing stupid because they get payed to. Its a wrestling match, The democrats get paid to turn their backs while the republicans grab a chair.

  • The prison industrial complex is even more destructive to society than the military one. You will NEVER reduce crime or violence in society with profit driven law enforcement.

  • I feel your frustration Cenk, I'm sure more do than don't.

  • I think that Obama is going to move to the left actually to balance the Republicans out if they get more seats in Congress. He's pragmatic and a centrist, but not stupid. He knows their game. Of course, only time will reveal what he chooses to do. Here's hoping for the best. :)

Also, shouldn't illegal immigrants be tried to make sure that they ARE in fact in the U.S. illegally, and not like legal U.S. residents being deported because they're Hispanic or something? That takes time no?

  • NO to PRIVATE PRISONS !!!

    it is unbelievable

  • Wait though. Shouldn't illegal immigrants be tried to make sure that they ARE in fact in the U.S. illegally? That takes time no?

  • Ana was dieing to Laugh.

  • Private prisons?! America is fucking crazy!!

  • The Democrats aren't weak, they are paid to throw the fight in the 5th round.

  • @nowaynohow26 Thanks for saying this. This is the truest statement amongst this comment section.

  • perfect example of fascism.

  • Private Prisons...It's already a really bad problem. Two PA judges were already charged with taking kickbacks(2.6 mil) to send more teenagers to a private youth detention centers.

"Capitalism at its best, is the worst."

  • @acasouk

That's a bit unrealistic. To expect Teabaggers to THINK.

    All they do is react.

  • @houchi69 It's common sense, and straw man is a logical fallacy.

  • @FatherTime89 if capitalism is so great, we wouldnt have a 2% richest controlling 85% of the wealth in America. and apparently they are still getting more wealth.

try actually engage in a conversation first. when you are telling people to shut up that just means you dont know what else to say to convince them.

  • @houchi69 There's no reason for me to debate obvious straw men. An intelligent person shouldn't have to resort to them.

  • Policy never equates law.

The policy of a Church could say no whites aloud. The policy of a Corporation is could be to deny any wrong doing.

Law is made by the many to protect the one.

    :P

  • It will get much worse.

  • @acasouk I agree, but thinking carefully about issues and writing essays are two things I don't think most teabaggers know how to do

  • Cenk please don't confuse the baggers with those who truly voted the democrats in for in hopes of real change. Baggers voted in the opposite direction because that want to keep the status qou in regard for the wealthy & corporate America. That's the very essence of conservatism. Baggers associate themselves with conservatism.

  • With corporations running the prisons, combined with the fact that our politicians are the property of said corporations, we can forget about ever ending the war on drugs.

  • @krebul too true

  • @krebul No don't underestimate the power of faith.

  • LMAO... good rant, Sir.

  • My best friend worked for CCA and he always said about 70% of the inmates did not belong behind bars! CCA lost its contract though and now the prison is empty!

  • Privatized police force within 10 years in at least one of the 50 states. Anyone want to place a bet?

  • If the govt didn't imprison a large number of poor, minorities, and other disenfranchised citizens, then there would over night be a massive revolution (violent or not) of our entire social and political system. Imprisoning all of these citizens is a win/win scenario for the rich and powerful. First, the elite fears the masses and will do anything to keep them down. Second, if they can make a profit in the process, then all the better for them.

  • Noam Chomsky prisones are created for population control that it. Its the an old slave system that needs to sieze to exist. The prison industrial complex needs to be terminated with something wayyyy more different. Ex Felonies who are trying to re-intregrate into the population should be. If they are not committing crimes for a long period of time. Or for that matter have changed there lives drasticallly.

  • poor immigrants

  • Blacks and Latinos have been SCREAMING about this for years. Prison industries is the number 1 industry in America. It translates to a second slavery and no one is even noticing. They also use a tactic called "stacking sentences" where they increase the jail time exponentially. Crimes that once and actually still carry a 5-7 year sentence are being sentenced at 50-70. Everyone should look into this.

  • You gotta be kidding. Do you realize how bad you have to screw up to even see the inside of a jail. They're being released as quickly as possible due to superior court mandates about over-crowding.

  • @loveispeace12 I agree, stacking is absurd... it's based on having bad luck.. but I haven't heard of a 5-7 year sentence turning into 50-70.. do you have any articles on this? I'm not doubting you.. but I'd like to read it.

  • I have to admit, I played this twice to re-listen to Cenk's rant. Fucking good one.

  • the democrats dont change it because they are the same thing. obama gives in because he is also bought out by the rich people(bankers).

  • isn't this fascism?

  • @TrustKovacss Handing your government over to the corporations IS fascism.

  • @TrustKovacss Yes it is...

  • WTF im paying taxes for jerks to make cash over locking innocent people up.................man thats not right. what happend to, vote for who is gonna be a good leader..? instead...lets vote for no reason while people buy out who they want to run the country, we are no democracy...

  • WTF im paying taxes for jerks to make cash over locking innocent people up.................man thats not right.

  • Any illegal alien who falsifies legal documents should be put in jail. Without a punishment for the crime the actions will continue.

  • Any illegal alien who falsifies legal documents should be put in jail. It's clear cut.

  • @pennjersey83 So they can be an even larger burden on the tax payers? I don't think so.

  • @pennjersey83

So... anyone who is underage and falsifies legal documents to get into a bar and buy booze - they should be thrown in jail too?

  • @pennjersey83 or deport his ass back. i mean american jail where you get food, or in mexico where you have no food and have a debt to the local mafia. if it was up to me i would want the jail cell.

  • Your best yet. But come on.........Tell us how you really feel

  • grab a baton and get to work.

  • Yep, if only we all had the purity of the democrats.

  • Yep, if only we had the purity of the democrats.

  • private prisons is such a fucking terrible idea

  • it's all a fucken circus, they all are dancing around everything, and doing shit. Spreading propaganda to divide everyone: Blacks, gay, religious people, rights activists etc., so that who ever is pulling the strings can get their way and have no unilateral opposition. Also most major media, if not all are bought to hypnotize, spread lies, promote junk and kill human spirits. Also most tv shows are fascinating and captivation just like a train wreck.

  • Private prisons will only encourage legislators to create new laws that will incarcerate more people, since those legislators will take money from the people owning the prisons.

  • @VexingSoul No one said the prisons themselves are arresting ppl, the issue here is that the prison companies try to get legislation passed that will ensure more prisoners. If these prisons werent motivated by profit there would be little incentive to do this. In fact, it costs the government more money; this is also why it doesnt make sense to say that the government will try to profit off federal prisons. Bottom line, all prisons should be non-profit. And yes, we hope gov't will make that law.

  • @DRok112 you are suggesting that people should not be motivated by profit, and frankly that will never happen. I think its far more realistic to realize that people are motivated by bettering themselves and making a profit. Considering this fact of human existence you will never be able to make people want what you want them to want. What we can do is make people responsible for their actions, government takes away this responsibility, it removes risk from the economy thereby harming it.

  • @DRok112 the government is made up of people just as any corporation. the individuals calling themselves government have the same desire to profit as anyone else. This idea that somehow we can have politicians that actively go against their own interests is foolish to the point of idiocy. Why not abolish government and allow free individuals to make their own choices about which businesses to support and which to not support? Why must we always force our neighbors to do what we think is best??

  • @VexingSoul I'm not saying people shouldn't be motivated by profit, that's like arguing gravity shouldn't hold things to the ground. This has nothing to do with forcing my will upon others. The fact of the matter is, BECAUSE people are motivated by profit, we should not establish companies whose business it is to imprison people with the goal of making as much profit as possible. Politicians do not make financial profits off Federal prisons, and no one "chooses" to support private prisons.

  • @VexingSoul As to your point about abolishing government, that is far more ridiculous than when I suggested we have Social reform. You think if you eliminate all regulation on say, the financial industry, that they will no longer take risks? The whole reason the banks took such huge risks with naked credit default swaps and other "casino capitalist" practices was because the existing regulations allowed them to. You think if we get rid of all those regulations that they'll just magically stop?

  • @DRok112 the banks are a monopoly granted by the government, they have no threat of competition they have no risk as it is. should they print trillions of dollars in fiat money, nobody can stop them from destroying the economy. This is what they have done. Nevertheless the market attempts to correct itself (hence the "depression"), and it would succeed were it not for the government bailouts and other interventions. Im not doing it justice, do any search for the Austrian business cycle threory.

  • @VexingSoul Wait a second, that doesn't even jive with the heterodox Austrian theory. If the "bailouts" didn't happen there would be an even bigger discrepancy between the amount of credit issued and real money in the system and that would cause interest rates to decrease as "you can't get blood out of turnip." (you can't increase the interest rates if there isn't enough real money to repay the principal.) Conversely, banks would have less incentive to loan. Either they are making money out -

  • @MoopireXXX of nothing or they aren't. Fiat currency is not a bank loan. You obviously picked an obscure, narrowly followed theory to support your world view, and leaving out wage stagnation in the face of economic growth makes the current recession nonsensical in regards to inflation. If wages were increasing with inflation, there would be far less credit issued yet there would also be more fiat currency in circulation. It isn't necessarily a bad thing if everything is indexed accordingly.

  • @VexingSoul be forcing people to pay for something they don't agree with is asinine. We already do pay, and not only that, but are you saying you're opposed to the idea of imprisonment? Does anyone think that? I'm pretty sure we can all agree that there are ppl who need to be locked up. Also, you keep framing the debate as though we aren't discussing prisons. When I say some industries/companies should be nationalized, I am specifically referring to prisons, health insurance, and nat'l security

  • @VexingSoul To increase profits, these companies must imprison more ppl and spend less on their living conditions, or deny ppl health care, etc. Now suppose there was a Dept. of Prisons, and all prisons are federal. That means they represent an expense to the gov't, so the natural incentive is to keep as many ppl out of prison as possible.
