Case 1840 Uni-Loader Skid steer Nevin DeLacour Plowing Snow

Hi there, what tires are on your uniloader? My 1994 Case 1840 has Trelleborg 12-16.5 tires and there is less than one inch gap between the rear tires and the fuel or hydraulic oil tanks. That leaves no room for any snow chains installation (2 inches minimum the dealer says). Is there a way a move the rear wheel hubs more to the center of the machine and re-position the sprocket and front hubs forward to keep the chains tension OK? Or much smaller tires? Thanks.

@alta122011 Hi, My tires are Maxxis MT-Loader 10-16.5. Sounds like you are going to have to go with 10s instead of 12s if you want to use chains. I don't use chains because my driveway is paved and I don't want to tear it up. As you can see, my driveway is not too steep so chains are not required if you are careful.

What kind of oil you use a hydraulic system?

@FB0073 Case IH No. 1 engine oil (SAE 10W-30) mixed with Case HTO additive. The mix is one quart HTO additive to 5 US Gallons oil (20 to 1 ratio). Total Hydraulic system capacity is 10.5 gallons.

Lowering the arms before backing up is good advice. Most loaders of this type have a very short wheel base. This makes them unstable. Thanks for the comment.

you should lower the arms before you back up. if you hit a bump or something you could tip forward. just a word of advice! great video!
