He vividly describes the horse round-ups and rendering, back when horse meat was valued for dog food and chicken feed. Also, there's an author You Tube interview on the subject that's fascinating. @brian93ist Most of these horses are old race horses or old breeding horses. They served their job then the owner sells them for meat. The meat industry is really fucked up so we as humans need to stop eating it and these animals will not be killed for human consumption.
What makes you think that slaughtering horses in the US is more humane? There are over 400 Horse Rescues in the US, who to their best to save as many horses as possible. The real problem is people who want a younger horse or have to breed every mare they have, regardless of confirmation. Don't blame PETA blame the throw away society we live in. Who discards animal or people if they now longer useful for their purpose.

Due to PETA hundreds of thousands of unwanted horses travel without feed or water to Canada or Mexico for slaughter every year. Regulations in welfare are often very lax throughout several days of travel, the 'lucky' ones go to Canada. PETA has exploited people shamelessly. He vividly describes the horse round-ups and rendering, back when horse meat was valued for dog food and chicken feed. Also, there's an author You Tube interview on the subject that's fascinating. Due to PETA hundreds of thousands of unwanted horses travel without feed or water to Canada or Mexico for slaughter every year. Regulations in welfare are often very lax throughout several days of travel, the 'lucky' ones go to Canada. PETA has exploited people shamelessly. Never is the crux of the problem addressed, simply the more attention they get the better.
People who genuinely care about animals do not suscribe to those who only care about manipulation and self-profit.

We know are horses aren't going to be bred. We neuter the colts and its part of the contract. No breeding. If they are used for breeding they have to pay us a substantial amount of money for the breeding rights. An amount close to $4000, most people don't want that. If they refuse we sue, we win. There is NOTHING humane about horse slaughter! Have you ever seen the process?
