  • Mr "teacher"? Would you get your face a little closer to it please?

  • SCIENCE! :D

  • Wow this teacher must be completely retarded... that would've looked way cooler with the lights off

  • Shutting that shield was incredibly retarded. He should have known better.

  • @bamboo4tameshigiri If he haven't of shut the shield who knows what would fly out of there and hit someone. The stupid thing was that he used oxy-acetylene if oxygen and heat is combined to the acetylene it makes a bomb pretty much.

  • @carfenaticman123 Oh I dont know what would have fallen out, glass perhaps. Then again, the explosion might have been less severe if there was more room for the gasses to expand. At any rate, it's pretty scary having so many people there without eye protection facing glass shards.

I suspect that this teacher will never make the same mistake again.

  • @Haqpyfeet Yea it is really scary but he problably used too much acetylene.

  • You said never to cross the streams Ray.....Your endangering us......

  • "Turn on the fumehood!" :)

  • syge danskere

  • ITS A TRIPLE COVALENT BOND. 35 people dropped out at 6th grade.

  • dont mess with c2h2

  • And here's the highlight:

    *explosion

*Teacher bursts into flames and runs like hell

    *clapping

  • Why is nobody wearing safety goggles?

  • lol

  • this is so funny

  • Last summer, I had this summer job at a factory, and my superior asked me and some guys to get some acetylene for welding. Now, my superior said it was dangerous. We were to get five compressed gas cylinders of acetylene. Large Cylinders. Thing is, if the cylinder was in too much motion, it could explode. One of the five, could wreck the whole care into pieces. Glad my superior didn't mention that x) Still, how can a teacher use such chemicals and not knowing of how dangerous it is.

  • What a dumb-fuck. He should loose his license.

  • @analyzingfunny What, his chemistry license? Fucking retard.

  • @almussalix lol his teaching license you fuck-twat.

  • That's what happens when I get a taco bell

  • Why didn't that glass hood stop that explosion?

  • @SeasOfRefuge There's oxygen in there, it's ventilated.

  • This is why chemistry is awesome

  • Did the triple bond broke?

  • Like Dr Robotnik would say:

    Success!!!!! A briliant success!!!!!!

  • Did the fume hood break?

  • I think the experiment was a success

  • @opsimathics it wasn't an experiment; it was a demonstration. if the instructor's intent was to demonstrate the hazards of being absent minded in the lab then i agree; win.

  • thats chemistry :P

  • any hydrocarbon gas when mixed with O2 will rock your world, but that triple carbon bond just has some much freaking energy to give! I normally use an 8 oz wax cup turned upside down with a pinhole in the bottom, much safer and still loud as hell. I've have a dream of someday filling a weather ballon with this mixture and setting it off out in the desert somewhere.

  • yes lets laugh cause the teacher died yay

  • @thekingsora yes let's feel bad because you made up some bullshit. fucking yay.

  • that happened to me today, but harder and more oxygen and it came through the littlebubbles of oxygen and Acetylene and I stood 1 food from the explosion and 30 yards from the explosion, they could still feel the shock wave.

    now I'm fucking deaf piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yesterday i had an exam about reaction between acetylene and oxigen... and i didn't know the answer...

  • haha what a dumb ass, that must have been a 2 gallon bag and he set it off in a glass cabinet, i saw it coming from the start. its lucky no one got shrapnel.

  • ok, i knew it could give a nice explosion, but now i also know why we never did this at school

  • Saftey first !!

Lower shield for extra shrapnel....... little oxegen ......... and

    Class dismissed !!

  • acetylene experiment gone badly right. for a mixture of oxi-acetylene to do that much damage would be a perfect ratio. unfortunately you now have a deaf chem teacher.

  • People are calling this teacher, but I bet everyone in that class remembers THAT lesson come exam time!

  • Schools out forever... schools been blown to pieces--- Alice Cooper

  • That one didn't fail... it worked. Its the teacher that doesn't work the next day.

  • ...what about the teacher?

  • TRIPLE BOND YEEE MOTHER FUCKERRSSSS!!!!

  • Good to see that the great tradition of chem class lives on.

  • dumbass...used oxygen in there too...I know what he was trying to do, I have done it myself several times...not very dangerous untill you throw the oxygen in there

  • teacher fail

  • i loled soo much when the teachers shit him self

  • Hope he got fired, everyone in there should have had safety glasses and hearing protection. Wouldn't be such a funny video if a kid popped up with a shard of glass in his eye or a burst ear drum

  • @hondabigredatc This teacher is a genius, I mean thats the best way to make students remember experiments. Everyone loves and remembers explosions.

  • Damn if i farted like that , id have no ass left!

  • Never underestimate the triple carbon bond...

  • Comment removed

  • That's scary stuff!!

  • somehow I don't think using a glass hood is a great way to protect your self from acetylene, oxygen and a flame lol.

  • did he died?

  • fucking idiot.... tænk han ikke kunne vide det ville gøre så meget skade

  • What happened to the teacher. After the explosion he was not seen again.. So funny.

  • Next we're going to synthesize TNT, let's contain the explosion with my bosses car...

  • You don't need acetylene. If you use oxygen and propane, and get the mix right, you will get a huge bang. A balloon about the size of a grapefruit is the biggest you should try if you are within ten feet of it. If it goes "pop" instead of BANG you have too much propane and not enough oxygen. Use ear and eye protection. And protect the rest of your body just in case. A balloon the size of a basketball will do serious damage to ears and anything else in the way.

  • Fail.. good thing that was safety glass? if it wasn't FUUUUUUUU!

  • And everyone in the room will hear that ringing sound for the rest of the day. The word of the day is Shrapnel! Or would've been if that explosion had been any more powerful.

  • fu...!

i would NOT like to be his underpants after that. not only is the fume hood in need of some serious repair, the glass wasn't far off the students

  • They were danish. Haha..

  • Someones gonna get fired. Someones gonna sued.

  • this ones kind of quiet make sure to turn up the sound as far as possible....

  • @chuckwilliams if chuck norris did it there would be no saftey glass come to think of it therd be no school

  • @InjuringMax TRUE BUT IF JOHN WAYNE WAS THERE THE EXPLOSSION WOULD OF BEEN MUCH BIGGER THAN THAT LOL

  • The light traveled so much faster than the sound

  • never mess up with the professor's gas

  • The shock wave is so strong it screwed up the white balance of the camera!! 0_o

  • NEVER try to contain an explosion.

  • @FelchBelcher

Never try to contain expanding gas you mean, in which case an explosion is what you will get. Unless of course what you were going for was an explosion, in which case contain away!

  • @FelchBelcher Yeah, what the hell was he thinking? Acetylene and Oxygen are extremely energetic ^^

  • @FelchBelcher tell that to my toilet after I eat chili

  • if we have done this at scholl i would have somemore interest to chemical stuff lol

  • looks like the teacher took hydrogen instead of acetylen...

  • Nice goin'

  • chuck Norris science experiment :-D

  • @thomaswilliams

Chuck saved his fart in the balloon, guess who found it? :D

  • And who said science classes were boring?

  • En Irak dirían que a los pequeños norteamericanos les enseña a inmolarse !

  • Lololol!! Is he still employed there?!... Omg..complete fool..could have seriously injured the entire class.

  • teacher caught fire LOL.

  • LOCKDOWN!!!

  • This is worth watching... to learn what NOT to do!

  • I like the part when the acetylene exploded.

  • Wow!! What happens when you contain combustion??? This science professor is a little slow.....It would have been less dramatic on the desk in open air.

  • Wow!! What happens when you contain combustion??? This science professor is a little slow.....

  • what a tool, so dangerous!!!!

  • I use that stuff for welding...

  • Should have only used half a gram or less lol

  • Awesome! I love chemistry ;)

  • Can't stop crying......

    Laughing so hard!!!

  • XD he was like, screw the kids, self preservation!!

  • I wonder if the teacher expected deflagaration instead of an explosion.

  • look at the teacher running for his life

  • i'm preeeetty sure he got fired for doing that :)

  • @weetnietgeen Nope, he didn't :) but he was an awesome chemistry teacher!

  • lol, better do it outside

  • explosion + closed environment = destruction

hmmm somebody might lose their job

  • I never thought I'd see a resonance cascade..

  • @darthzydar great comment simply amazing its sad not many people will get this though

  • @darthzydar...let alone create one.

  • @darthzydar Haha someone has been playing halflife too much ;)

    Awesome quote darthzydar

  • it's obviously that the guy only has Bs.C.....plus doing it in a fumehood???? =)))))))

  • Why would you do an Acetylene experiment in the first place in a class? That's like checking whether or not propane combusts...

  • fuck that sounds like a Cal. .50 Barrett sniper ^^

  • why would he close it, he just created a closed chamber. some teacher

  • @superhornetfan Not only that but you'd think a chemestry teacher would know how powerful that shit is

  • Is the instructor's lab coat on fire? The fume hood being closed was a bad idea (pressure change blew it out) but the fire on the coat is quite a surprise...

  • @Phage0070 Don't worry, that's the fluorescent light behind him being blurred by the shaking camera.

  • Dum de Dum Dum. Here comes the principle.

  • shouldnt have closed it... he created a closed explosion chamber (try gunpowder on table vs inside a metal pipe).

it just blew the plexiglass out of the way.

  • Really bunch of idiots laughing and don't care about teacher!

  • @staaplar He wasn't hurt... =/

  • Comment removed

  • I want to be in that class!!!!!! lol

  • @djqx i was in this class :P

  • lol 0:10 OH MY GOD!!

  • #omg I thought the fumehood cover was indestructable.

  • did he died? from flammable cloak?

  • @ryanstewart86 no, he ate it before it went out

  • omg.. why is the danish teachers ALWAYS INSANE! anyways, my friend kasper goes in this class O_o anyways (2) my teacher burned down a table once... waaah..

danmark styre gutter join us! XD

  • americans as usual, trying to bite off more than they can chew lol

  • @knutfheifer heh ive never gotten a mad science teacher of any kind... why do i get the lame teachers

  • This guy is retarded, he should know that the triple bond in acetylene contains a shitload of energy. It doesn't need to be compressed to explode just the right stoichiometric ratio. I used to fill balloons up and set them off in my backyard until my neighbor called the cops with a shots fired report.

  • MEIN FUHRER

    I CAN WALK

  • oxygen + fuel (acetylene) + ignition = fire

fire + comression (the test chamber) = explosion!

  • @mastergx1 the test chamber doesn't compress anything. In fact it's a ventilated chamber that enables you to work with chemicals without getting exposed to gasses etc.

  • Thumbs up if you were wearing a headset and shit yourself.

  • @michboard Thumbs up if you hate shitheads asking for thumbs up

  • why did they even have to do the experiment in a fume hood anyway?

  • and this is why we wear goggles kiddos... and this is why i fear my job a chem lab teacher's aid lol

  • did he died?

  • wtf is teacher TERROR

  • wonder if he kept his job.

  • @herbelizerbunny he did, its normally the teaches do such things in denmark.. >.<

  • $10,000 dollar fume hood down the drain. reaction of the students is worth it though!

  • I wish there some after explosion pictures.

  • What was that I don´t even!

  • Don't know what's more curious.. the explosion or all those teenagers having their handys out and recording in half a second after the bang, lol..

  • TERROR!!!!

    Al-Qaida @ Work/School :D

    Bomb-Test more successful than thought..

Explain this to your BOSS/Principal/School-Authority :-D

  • But our son can't be a terrorist, he just can't be I mean he was always so good in school

  • Thats sick

  • these germans sure love theyre chemie...they practically died in a freak accident and are applauding for moe

  • "Ramiriez, flashbang the class!"

  • @DarkEman245 hahahahahahahahaha

  • @DarkEman245 daaamn! this was good

  • Did he died?

  • try Sodium Cloride+water+oxygen

    it's can burn a car ^^,

    and kill..

  • @vaezx

And our German politicians (CDU/CSU/FDP) want to store NUCLEAR waste into salt mines. SEE: "ASSE" & "Gorleben" ^^ Simpsons-"Radioactive-man" is near^^

  • LOL

  • He was like oh wait, I forgot to close it so the glass will act as confinement and shrapnel.

  • awsome

  • thats what you get for putting an explosive in a contained environment!!!

  • Looks like there was a leak and the entire hood was filled with acetylene/oxygen if you look at the slo-mo, the flame ball fills the entire hood this might explain the size of the explosion

  • @schoschie looks like it. Same thing that would happen if you had too much gas on before you lit it. Same event basically.

  • @schoschie More than likely yeah. The mad scientist have the blast shield slighty open and made the explosion a tad bit more powerful.

  • @ 0:05 FRAG OUT!! Tango down!

  • Did this guy not here what happened to the last guy that filled a garbage bag with acetylene and oxygen they scraped him off the roof of his garage

  • he got fire right?

  • booya :D

  • I could Imagine this on failblog.

    Acetylene experiment win

    Or...

    Acetylene experiment fail

  • When does oxygen+acetylene ever go well?

  • HOLLY SHIT!

  • DId the teacher get into trouble?

From the sound of broken glass flying around, it makes me wonder about this experiment. I would have used a protective shield. If he wants to do it alone and record it on a video, that's cool. But he did it right there in front of the kids who might have been injured by the projectiles from the blast (like glass shrapnel).

  • @Nguli34689 Just unlucky I'd say. Many chem classes demonstrate alkynes without problems, but in this case it was probably a tried and true demo under unfortunate circumstances. The glass is part of a fume hood, which is a big vented enclosure you'll find in any chem lab that experiments are performed in; this demo had probably been done several times before, this being the unlucky "one" time. Fume hoods are built with resistant glass, but explosions are unpredictable. Over time anything breaks.

  • @D4N747 When I was in my early teens I wanted to make myself a "Cherry Bomb" and I did. When I was fixing the fuze, I saw an orange ball of flame and my hands were inside. When the hissing noise disappeared along with that fireball, my hands looked like fried chicken. I had to be taken to the hospital. This was 40 years ago and I still have 3rd degree burn scars on both my hands. After this I learned to respect chemicals and fireworks.

  • @Nguli34689 I'm sure this chemistry teacher shares your respect for explosives as well. I was only saying that it's likely that this exact experiment had been performed several times over the previous years and it was just this one time that the glass broke perhaps due to the length of exposure to shock. The protective shield in this case was the fume hood; typically a perfectly reliable "blast shield," just not in this instance. The use of the hood constitutes the desire to protect the kids.

  • I miss chemistry class...

  • careless idiot...
