what a minute, Khorkina didn't get the gold in 94, Luo Li did (and rightly so!). I'm not sure there was a competition where Khorkina and Liu Xuan went head to head, was there?
Khorkina and Liu Xuan both competed in the 1996 Worlds UB finals, but it wasn't really a close contest. Even though Khorkina actually made quite a big mistake, she managed to cover it up and took the Gold. Liu Xuan only came 9th because her routine had a low start value even though she had the most difficult routine.

I love how she looks happy after her routine like she knew she did a great job but it didn't matter if she won gold or any medal at all.

Amazing. This is one of the best performances of this routine I've seen from her.
