  • i wanna buy this camera.i have the money.i clicked on the link provided and the website is is some asian language what the heck!

  • Where can I get these at a cheaper price?

  • I hate that this camera costs so much, specially the SL version :O but I want it so baaaad. I heard these are common in Japan though...

  • I love half-frame photography, the only problem is the 1 hour photos near me are too lazy to develop my prints. >.>

  • hi, mijonju there is a hybrid digital autohalf issit? that has a lcd with it?

  • @MrBooLah yes! ill make a show soon

  • do u know where i can buy a flash for the auto half????

  • Isn't there also a solar cell arrangement in that front glass area? The light meter would need at least a little electricity to operate. I bought one of these out of a junk pile about 20 years ago for Y500 and then Ricoh serviced it for Y10,000 and it worked pretty well. It's cool that it's fully automatic with no batteries... and it has a solar cell, right? - LHS

  • @lylehsaxon yes, what i meant to say is that you dont need to buy extra batteries for it, the selenium cell in the ricoh itself is one of the most longest living on compared to other cameras. but thanks for pointing out this point, i should have said it in the video, by any chance if i make another one ill include this detail :)

  • @Mijonju I never actually looked it up before, but Wikipedia says: "The electric part of such a meter is an electromagnetic measuring instrument which is connected to the anode and cathode of a selenium photo cell that produces more or less electric power when exposed to more or less light." I've always hated batteries running out, so that was my favorite aspect to this camera - fully automatic with no batteries! Now I have to find it. I don't know where I stored it! - LHS

  • @lylehsaxon haha, you must find it :) great treasure :)

  • Love the autohalf photos Mijonju! The colors were almost monochrome, very faded. Is this the effect of the camera, or was it the film, or both?

  • @soundofseventythree probably both :) I donno thats just how it came out when i have them printed, i'll look into it when i have the time :)

  • i want one :)

  • sigh, time to buy another camera.. is there an english version of ryuitsuki's website? my japanese is mediocre.

  • @shockifyed you can buy it through me, i sell it as the same price as ryu itsuki :) actually i just do the tranlation for him and for you. if you are interested please send me a personal message :)

  • That's one cute camera. If I had enough guts to use film camera. I'm so spoiled with digital. Don't even know where to get film developed in NYC.

  • That's one cute camera. If I only knew how to shoot film. Or where to conveniently develop film in NYC.

  • Ouch it's really expensive....

  • No batteries? That is awesome! It's made my Ricoh too, nice :)

  • I believe the girls in that Auto Half CM called out 4 chan haha
