I think my Health Care System in Canada could use an improving but I think it works for us very well. We can always see our doctors or hospitals when ever we want.
Dont americans get we can still get private health care, not everybody can afford it, the NHS is a great institution and im damn proud of it im 19 and it save my cousin when she had brain cancer her family could not afford the treatment or even afford private health care they just managed to scrape by her parents worked 3 jobs to get by pay there taxes and there country takes care of them. When i was on holiday in china i was told how expensive healthcare was there. Calling an ambulance was as costly as a taxi and if you diddnt have money to pay for surgery they will let you die! This is true. look it up. I was put at ease when i came back to england knowing that whatever happens the NHS will take care of me. Free healthcare should be a human right to all people.
Although one thing I'l say about this video is that the BBC comparisons are just as biased as Fox News comparisons. For s start, Despite the fact Britain pays 8.4% GDP, The UK's GDP is around 2,500,000 while the US's GDP is around 14,000,000 so in actual fact. The US does pay less but at the cost of excluding healthcare for less well off citizens of the US. Also the comment where universal healthcare is paid by the state is misleading. The state gets the money from us.

Whatever your viewpoint, it cannot be disputed that the British system spends less but achieves greater life expectancy and hence is more economically efficient. And the USA is the ONLY developed nation without universal healthcare.
I think the problem with all this pro Healthcare in the UK is not due to the actual belief that the NHS is great but that they see it as an insult on the British for Americans to say that the British system sucks, I mean, That American at 1:05. Although one thing I'l say about this video is that the BBC comparisons are just as biased as Fox News comparisons. For s start, Despite the fact Britain pays 8.4% GDP, The UK's GDP is around 2,500,000 while the US's GDP is around 14,000,000 so in actual fact. The US does pay less but at the cost of excluding healthcare for less well off citizens of the US. Also the comment where universal healthcare is paid by the state is misleading. @Malusregnum I don't mean to be patronising but the US spends more on healthcare as a percentage of GDP, per capita and in absolute terms as well; 8.4% of 2.5 bn is less than 16% of 14 bn (both incorrect GDP figures btw). The BBC's numbers are fine here.
Whatever your viewpoint, it cannot be disputed that the British system spends less but achieves greater life expectancy and hence is more economically efficient. And the USA is the ONLY developed nation without universal healthcare.

@ytalanwms Actually each working and non-working person has their own National Heath Insurance and an individual number which each person gets before their 16th birthday and gives to their employer or the Department of Social Security (DSS) and then the employer or the DSS can then pay in so much each month (for me it's a fiver) and that covers us against any and all eventual illness, the NHS may not be perfect but it's an improvement on 100 years ago.

It also ties up Emergency Rooms and pulls doctors away from more serious cases. Providing routine basic care SAVES MONEY. Also, Emergency Room don't treat "chronic" diseases. You can't run to the Emergency Room every time you need chemo or dialysis treatment.

Every household and business in the UK using a TV (not radio) must pay a licence fee of £142.40p per year to fund the running of the BBC's many non commercial TV and radio stations. Many countries in Europe also use a licence fee to run public broadcasting stations. I think it is true that the BBC aka the Beeb is not run in any substantive way dictated to in any way by the Government in terms of output or political content.
