  • Wow, it's really awesome! I'm getting addicted to this song recently. Actualy, I'm looking for a piano sheet for this song coz I'm planning to have a performance in school event in next month. Can you please share with me if you have? Or could you please advise me when did you get this piano sheet? It is really necessary for me! :) I appreciated of your help in advance!

  • @krystenkang I got the sheets for this one out of the book "Santana - Greatest Hits Transcribed Scores" by Hal Leonard. Still in print. Keep in mind they transcribe the songs from the Greatest Hits album, which were all single cuts, so the little e. piano solo is cut and the Gypsy Queen outro is cut but still a great book

  • @dtimm612 Thank you so much for a great information!! OK. for piano solo, it seems I need to create by myself but it's not a big deal! :) I stayed up all night for searching a tab but I couldn't. So I really appreciate of your help. Thank you so much again. Have a good day!

  • I could learn from you. Great job!

  • G A W N O !!!

  • Fantastic!!! very well played...Gregg Rolie would be proud.

  • I'll trade you my yamaha keyboard for that hammond! lol

  • @davefredriksz Yes you are correct, and during the guitar solo Gregg randomly shifted chords up an octave.

  • awesome job dt!

can you tell me the chords played at the end after the 3 D strikes and at the very end?

  • @smpk42 Thanks for the comment, the chords I played after the D's are C, Em, A, back to D. I think I was adding a 7th onto what would be the A chord (G note) just to give it more body because I wasn't playing the 3rd. The very last chord I played was just an A though. Hope that helps!

  • @jominguex The notes are C-D-A-C-D-A-B-D-C-D-A-C-D ... repeat that pattern until you hit the first chord (Gm)

Btw, I can't guarantee it, but I'm pretty sure the electric piano on the original is a Wurlitzer, not a Rhodes.

    Nice job, dtimm612!

  • @hkojan when he played it live he used a (Fender) Rhodes for sure, since it can be seen in various concert footage (check out the video of them playing Black Magic Woman live in Ghana in 1971 for a closeup of his 73 key Rhodes), but as far as the recording, it could be either. I would assume he used the Rhodes on the recording though.

  • @dtimm612 Well, in that case you're likely correct. To make sure I decided to go to the source and just emailed Gregg's publicity guy, who I exchanged a few emails with when Gregg had a local gig a while back. (I'm "in the biz.") I'll let you know if/when I hear from him.

By the way, when he and his band played it live, they skipped the darn solo and played the "edit."

  • @dtimm612 Got a reply yesterday from Gregg via his publicist. It was a WURLTIZER.

    Have a great holiday!

  • anybody know the notes of the right hand for the first 48 seconds?

  • Superb job. Excellent post.

  • thank you master thank you,.,.,.,.me faltaba la parte del piano.

    gracias maestro,.,.,..,

  • thanks bro your video save my life jaja thanks so much when i see your piano solo i can take the chords and go to play this song with my band,

    and thanks twice xD

  • could u post the chords after the arpeggio?

  • i need guitar tabs for the part he starts playing at 0:07

  • great stuff could you do a tutorial and slow it down?

  • I really admire your playing and also like your nice sounding hammond. Keep on jamming!

  • Dude, if you have some extra cash, buy a Wurly!! You deserve one. This'd sound awesome on it! Good job!

  • nice man! can you make a video Victory is won by Carlos Santana?

  • damn man im playing this live in like 2 weeks...id love it if you could post the notes to the solo...im having a hard time being precise with it

  • Great playing, I hate that many compilations skip the electric piano solo. it's a very cool part and not that long.

  • real nice tune

  • hey man the hammond sounds terrific, its what make this song a great song

  • Couldn't agree more

  • cool

  • also, what keyboard are you using for the fender rhodes part?

  • That's a Yamaha DGX-505 88 key, not the best keyboard for feel and features but it has some good sounds

  • where can i find one?

  • KICK ASS!

  • the best soud, dtimm612 rulez!!!

  • very nice

  • Nice 1 M8
