"Freddie loathed cricket and long-distance running, but he liked hockey, sprint and boxing. At the age of 10 he became a school champion in table tennis.

At the age of twelve he was awarded the school trophy as Junior All-rounder. He loved art, and was always sketching for friends or relatives".

Freddie Mercury (born Farrokh Bulsara, 5 September 1946 – 24 November 1991)

Mercury, was a Parsi born in Zanzibar, East Africa (now part of Tanzania), Mercury spent the bulk of his childhood in India and at the age of 17, Mercury and his family fled from Zanzibar for safety reasons due to the 1964 Zanzibar Revolution. The family moved into a small house in Feltham, Middlesex, England.

He had a younger sister, Kashmira.
