I was lucky enough to see INXS twice, firstly at Hammesmith Odeon in 1987 before Kick had really made them massive. A friend of mine had seen them support Queen at Wembley Stadium and I knew nothing about them. Loved the gig and was a fan from that point onwards. Sinead O'Connor was suppor that night as well!
I saw them in Santa Barbara at the Arlington Theater in the Fall of '85, and they opened the show with Johnson's Aeroplane: Great video, thank you for posting!.
This is great live footage!! Thanks for sharing! Don't know where you got it or how but you should hang on to it! I don't believe I have ever seen it in the mainstream!
I had the chance to thank Gary Beers for writing this - Johnson's Areoplane - in Dallas. He was kind of shy but said Thank you when I told him it changed my life. Great night for me, also caught A's drumstick and met Simon LeBon, about 1/2 dozen supah models and ended up scooping Hutch for a backrub. Freaking awesome guys, best band I've EVER seen live. Got blessed by seeing them 5 times, Hutch said that tank was torn off him by fans. I agree this is a WAY underrated song. They were so GOOD!!
"Johnson's Aeroplane" is such a great, and underrated song. So is "Kiss The Dirt", another underrated song. Nearly INXS whole catalogue is underrated.
I've been trying to find this version "Live" of Johnson's Aeroplane for years! My girlfriend (at the time) in late 1985 and I saw INXS at Butler (Clowe's Hall) and they opened with Johnson's Aeroplane. My favorite cd of all time: The Swing.
I couldn't possibly be more appreciative. Thank you so much. I've seen many a clip online and I saw them four times between 1986-1994. This is as good as it gets!
I have "The Swing" CD in my car right now and it sounds as great now as it did when I first heard it in 1984. This vid really works for me because these are two of my most favorite INXS songs. Thanks for posting!
He said he didnt want to live to be 40 hehehehe!
