wots mathrock?? it is relevant to the Foals , because apparently they are like math geneuses , (I read this on NME magazine and on 'Q' magazine) , so im not making it up.

It means they use loads of different time signatures i.e. not 4 beats in a bar. Foals are not mathy, they play in 4/4 nearly all of the time. Ed fitz (Yannis and Jack's old band) were really mathy, which is maybe where the whole 'math rock' thing comes from.

Also mate, they're all just really smart guys, they dropped out of uni because they got so big.. Might even have been Oxford, I don't know.

But Foals are actually inspiring, they make me want to do maths, and the Big Bang Theory makes me want to do physics, so really, the media is just fab.
