1963 was a sad year for the Kennedy's. On August 9th the family lost their newborn son Patrick Bouvier Kennedy & then this had to happen. I truly felt sorry for Jackie after Kennedy's murder. First loosing your child & then 3 months later loosing your husband. Goes to show you the lady had a lot of class. She behaved in the most dignified way imaginable. Without ever loosing her composure. She waited until after the funeral before allowing the first tear to fall. She was an American Heroian.
You're most certainly are welcomed. I grew up near Washington DC when President Kennedy, Jacqueline, Caroline & John Jr. were living in the White House.
I even took a tour of the White House when the Kennedy's were living in the White House. However, unfortunately, I never met President Kennedy in person. I remember the Kennedy years fondly. I knew one of President Kennedy's sisters childhood friends. Which was good enough for me. :) God Bless You Too, my friend. :)
@0907oliv .... yesterday was JFK's historical election. Tuesday, November 8th, 1960, John Fitzgerald Kennedy was elected as our 35th president. Jacqueline became our "First Lady" Believe she was our 3 youngest First Lady. Who can forget Caroline and little John John.

Jacqueline married Onassis for security. It was shortly after Bobby Kennedy's murder that she finally had to do something to help save her own children from any harm. Her quote on this was.
"If they're killing Kennedy's. My children will be next!"
I have to admit. As Americans we were all taken back by her movement at the time. When it came to her own security and that of her children. I can understand why.
Also, she and Onassis knew each other long before Kennedy was Killed.
I believe Jacqueline accepted the Warren Commission on JFK's Assassination. Also, the commission was very kind to her. Worked with her during her time of mourning. Because it was during the first few months after JFK Assassination that they worked with Jacqueline. I've read the various books on the Assassination of Kennedy. Especially William Manchester's book. "Death of a President." Which she and Bobby tried to have banned. Due to it's personal content. We may never fully know why.

Some of the personal things removed from the book were a touching description of JFK's reaction to the death of his son and a description of JFK & Jackie's embrace the night of Nov 21: "They were both so tired they leaned against each other like bookends." & other things, too. I have great respect for Jackie's desire for privacy, but if some of these things were known about JFK, his critics might be kinder to him.
Such of a heartwarming scene, the crowd was so happy to see him. How they wanted to touch him!
