  • @hyperbaricchicken101 Canada is mainly the same in majority of ways as the US. Except it seems Canada many buildings use bells and strobes are optional as in the US many buildings use horn strobes and strobes are an ADA requirement. Some places are up to date with that requirement in the US others are not.

  • @MrWill1985 Hyperbaricchicken was my account that i closed last february but thanks anyway.

  • That Place Is Huge!

  • im betting this is a loblaws store , :) the first give away was the ringer through the pa speakers as warehouse (Receiving) phone is ran though the pa system for the warehouse clerk, second was the cart in the ware house, third the shelfs in the ware house and TADA JOE FRESH on the wall haha, i work for loblaws my self

  • If it's the storage area (or warehouse) of the store, why are there music ?

And, in the retail area, when you showed the ceiling, I did'n seen the sprinkler system. Are there no sprinklers?

    Thanks!

  • @paul9511 its a grocery store. the music is for the customers and it stays on all the time. Yes there is sprinklers here!

  • @twoplyboy is this a bitch with this much noise i suggest you should get a quieter alarm not to be rude i'm just being nice

  • @Whsbusiness I dont own the alarms....i just test them!!

  • @twoplyboy oh ok but i thought those bells would go on forever god damn

  • @paul9511 normally the sprinklers have a glass rod, and when it detects heat they melt and break and thats wha sets them off

  • If it's the storage area (or warehouse) of the store, why are there music ?

  • Is the bell code 3 sounding?

  • Is this a Walmart or something?

  • @briggsjos superstore.

  • @twoplyboy oh. ic.

  • @twoplyboy Real canadian super store?

  • i think the term bell test works much better with bells for stuff like mts it should be horn test but whatever

  • @hyperbaricchicken101 no, pretty much all the same.

  • What store is this? At first I thought this was Costco.

  • those bells sound great in code 3

  • So for your job all you have to do is go to buildings that request to have their fire alarm tested? I should get a job doing that (if I get payed a lot of course).

  • @TssCman123 yeah thats pretty much what I do.

  • As far as many US department stores and clothing stores many fire alarm signals are always mounted to the ceiling. Some have them mounted on the roof supports but many like Walmart and some grocery stores I see them mounted in the ceiling. I think even in ceiling tiles as well.

  • How many buildings in Canada still have fire bells? Most places I go to in the US either were built in recent years with horn/strobes or speaker strobes. Or the bells got replaced with horn/strobes or speaker strobes. And the only building I know in the US that has Wheelock bells had strobes retrofitted on them. But 90% of US buildings Ive been to have either Horn/strobes or speaker/strobes. Even stores similar to this one.

  • I suspected this was in Canada. Most United States buildings these days do not use bells for the fire alarms. Its either chime strobes. Speaker Strobes or Horn strobes. I dont know how loud speaker and chime strobes are but the horns are really loud. I even stepped outside during a fire alarm testing because of how loud it is.

  • @brookschampionrule Its a requirement to test fire alarms in commercial buildings. So basically the alarm companies are authorized to ring the alarms when theres no fire. Usually its announced before the alarms go off since everyone needs to know testing is going on so they know not to evacuate the building when they sound.

  • ok thats fine with me um maby i will take some pic of the fire alarms for u and i will send some for u

  • so u wont come and call me and see me about the fire alarms at ashland wi

  • sorry bro. I will not call. There is nothing I can do in the United States of America. I'm only allowed to test here in Canada. We are a part of the CFAA. Canadian Fire Alarm Association. Unable to test in the USA. I hope you understand.

  • @XXVampireLordXX With the US there are alarm companies who work on or test fire alarms throughout the nation. Like Simplex Grinnell. I know theres also BFPE fire safety and security. And I forget who else in the US does fire alarm service.

  • no. this is my job.

  • wht company do u work for?

  • o ok hey u shold try the schools in ashland wi and wal-mart fire alarms call 1715-292-3284 and i will tell u all about my schools

  • where was this at walmart at superior

  • nope...we do not have the contract for the walmarts here in ottawa.

  • I actually saw a few systems like that last summer when I visited Canada, complete with billingual pulls

  • Hey Casey,

Here on the 19th, (Edmonton Alberta)

There was a big storm with lots of damage! A Part Of the CN tower fell onto cars!

60% of the citys power was out.

So we went onto a website that shows all the dispatch calls coming into the city... most were for alarms panels shorting out ! I just thought you would find that interesting!

  • i never knew that Edmonton had a CN tower as well. Yeah that must of been crazy over there. what was the website that you listened on?

  • oh yeah, I live in Edmonton, and I happened to be downtown when that happened. It was quite the storm.

    [/offtopic]

  • Awsome !

  • Very nice. Personally, I'd go with an analog meter. May be a bit hard to read going back and forth, but you can see changes in power level a whole lot faster.

  • i guess you got get up early to do them test, eh casey as not to panic the customers, nothing like a stampee at the s, store,, i call it the stupid store,, lol,,

  • i used to call it the same name. yeah you are right! we do it in the AM so we do not bother the customers.

  • yea casey,us canadiens come up with the same names, eh, i have different names for all my customers some not so good, i bet you do to,, lol,,

  • your company must be a EST dealer

  • nope.....we just have a lot of places that have EST's

  • were was that? cosco does canada have a cosco?

  • yes Canada has Cosco lol
