  • I don't know what it really is, but I think you have too high an ISO, and it's messing up the film.

  • @JARANDandJENS hey a quick question, did you use two cameras for the while thing or one?

  • Full sd 1900x or 1240x (My camera 1240x has 50 fps)

  • Very well shot movie and the gasmasks reminds me of the film Patrolmen.

Where did you get the sound effects for the guns at the end?

  • What was your shutter speed when you shot this video?

  • Where did you get the sound effects?

  • like the gas mask were u get it

  • Just on a personal thought.... I really didn't like this very much, BUT! The last 10 seconds of gunshots and shit going down, I thought was splendid! Very climatically, and just a basic ass clincher. :D

  • metro last-light

  • Jarand, did you use Videocopilot's Optical flares' textures starting at 1:16?

  • looks like someone broke their m4!

  • what's the f/ of the lens?

  • @capecodairsofter looks like the 1.8 to me!

  • It sort of reminded me of Stalker thats on you tube...... Good film

  • @juicedupmedia1 yh i like the bit in stalker when the 2 guys in the white sutes got fucked up

  • you should try to puke with your gasmask on... :D

Anyhow, I have like 3 of the same masks and also a PBF gas mask.

  • @SAMhello yes, but not for the first seconds i think

  • with a cool camera, you can do much things :D

  • this is awsome im writting my sript for my short film im using a nikon e8800 got any tips this will be my first film

  • With the new M50 mask he wouldn't have to leave the area to replace his filter! get with the times bro, that mask is so WW1

  • but for a next time use a tripod for static images

  • like it! very beautiful audio!

  • Aw man i wish i had that cam I just brought a canon camcorder which is on laleway at the pawn shop, i forgot the model but do you think all canon camcorders are this great in quality?

  • Loved it! but you could have used a steady cam for the walking, other than that its one of the better 550d shorts.. good job

  • Can you send me a private message on how you made the lighting the video flash when he shot back at the people, and what kind of gun it was?

  • what kind of gun was that?

  • Great Job! How much is it to get a nice lens, i'm getting a 1500$ Sony HD soon so i would like to know the price range for a descent lens.

  • @quagdingo77 dude you dont need to buy a camera for that much ive got a 1080p kodak and its a realy good quility it cost £120 which is about $310 but if you want the sony then buy it :)

  • Well apart from the story (which you already explained) it was pretty cool. I'm a film maker as well, so I noticed some of the more stylistic things you did. I like how you actually change camera angles and you stitched it together very nicely. Good color correction and movement. Well done.

  • dead mans shoes gas mask :) could have used a tripod at start and a steady cam when walking....good raw stuff though keep it up

  • ?!?!!? what is this ?!??!?!? O__o

  • Were you using a steadycam for any of this?

  • Thats a good one i hope i see more of your vids. Are you in US or Finland or sthg? Because in Finland they have these little sheds for the trash

  • WTF IS THE POINT OF THIS

  • 24 suckers 145 & above lucky to see this video :)

  • great video man, check out my channel for some of my cinematography.

  • Why use a gasmask that isn't tight? :D

  • awesome.. how did u do the light of the gun shots at the end ? with a hand held torch/or flashlight ?

  • very nice color correction at some points but then it gets really dark and u cant see shit, the focus isnt good...

when u used the scratched lens effect from the optical flares than u should of blured that out because the focus is on something else...

  • I have almost the same out fit your wearing in this in one of my videos

  • Is it youtube conversion that covers the footage with pixelation?

  • What editing software did you use for this?

  • @J4zzyG (cough) scratch that.... i just read the description :P

  • Incredible camera work, I can't believe you're only 15! I've seen much worse made by adults :P I've got the 550d too and a 50mm f/1.4 lens and I've always wanted to try and do film with some kind of story behind it rather than just candid things, you've inspired me!

  • hats off to you guys, sweet job for what it is :P

  • Wo what just happened

  • ......Wow!!!....

  • WOW love the film look and the editing good acting aswel, proooooo

  • omg It's awesome tell me something what programs did you use to do that work? all programa tell me it. and how many hours you invert to finish it

  • Great work, but I laughed when he picked up the water bottle:

"How the fuck do i drink this?"

  • Did u use an ext mic? If so what kind? Nice vid.

  • So cool man!......... one of my favorites

  • good film but the audio needs a little, go back and put in background noise in the gun shots so it gives it more realism

  • is the cannon film or electronic

  • wheres sense

  • better than hollywood, great feel.

  • was this filmed wit the lens that comes wit the camera?

  • For an amateur production, this was brilliantly done.

  • The only thing I like were the Weapon Sounds.

  • Nearly 20 000 views!!

  • I would laugh if someone randomly walked by, staring at you awkwardly.

  • Hey m8! what computer do you use to render this video??

  • Wow, this is rather well done. Great camera work near the beginning.

Is this episodic? Because, what was the point?

  • what lens?

  • Why does this look so professional i have a Canon 550D and i cant get shots like this .. what lens do you use and what program do you use to edit this ?

  • how did you get your hands on that mask?

  • @mistergenechoe you can buy them off amazon for like 20 bucks... just search gas masks, i had one but it broke cause my firends fat head ripped it

  • @JARANDandJENS Hell, I will make a vid on my channal for it!I made both the assualt rifle version AND the pistol version of him!

  • @JARANDandJENS I wil get a screen shot set up as soon as COX gets back up :D

  • @JARANDandJENS Sorry it has taken so long to get back with it but I finally got the pic!

  • @JARANDandJENS i think at 1:13 when hes choking you should of got a little fish eye shot in there. that would of been cool like a fish suffocating out of water. or maybe im thinking to much lol

  • @relcluse City of heroes is amazing!

  • @HazardusGecko Your damn right!

  • good filming keep it up

  • how did you get the gas mask

  • Other than the problems with the gun, it was very well done

  • Awesome, and also my bro has the same gas mask as u :D

  • @dim0l It is meant to be shakey.Adds effect.

  • @relcluse lol

no reason is a good factor for movies

  • i didnt see much action i just saw him go through the trash, somthing happens to him, the a dark room of randon fire

  • very nice !!! good job !!

  • I really enjoyed this. I loved the opening and the ending, the middle became a little tedious but overall good work. been thinking about picking up a 50mm lens myself.

  • @JaranAndJens this is pretty decent. Just very shaky and seems very flat. I see you have a vision, but what you really need is cinematography and some visual effects. Hit my inbox. I will send you some links to some good tutorials. The kind of tutorials that don't include a guy talking about what he at for 10 minutes. :-D

  • 15 years old? Wow, this is really good. I mainly enjoyed it when the effects of whatever was happening, how it affected him and the effects you went with to convey the emotion.

  • I randomly fire my M4A1 when I put a new filter on my gas mask too!

  • Unfortunately, I got nothing out of this video. While the video quality was nothing short of what I would expect from a t2i, that makes no difference if the video content is impossible to understand. I have no clue as to what happened. Don't get me wrong, I love dark characters with vague and mysterious pasts; modern noir is a personal favorite. Unfortunately, the short was simply too short to begin to make sense or grab my interest. Since nothing really happened during it, I'm at a loss. Sorry.

  • good short what settings on the camera did you use? iso, ect

  • I have the xsi (600D) with no video...I was pissed when I found out I couldve paid about 100 dollars more to get a camera with stunning quality video...

  • Rules #1: every clip should not last any longer than 5seconds

  • PLS TELL ME YOURE RENDER SETTINGS ORE SEND A LINK PLS PLS PLS !!!

  • hey JARANDandJENS, I got proscores but was unable to find the background ambience that goes from 00:39, then continues out, help?

  • @JARANDandJENS I loved the short film. What lenses did you use or recommend using with the 550D or similar?

  • Excellent job man, the whole line of 550D, 60D, 7D are excellent cameras for film making. Bought the 60D a few months ago after switching from the Panasonic HPX170 and I would never go back. DSLRs are bomb.

  • nice video... a sugestion learn about the Quarters rule. see ya!

  • wow. how'd you get this look? most of the other films with this camera look way to Sharpen, and yours has a nice look to it. is it the lens? or the settings in the camera?..but great job bra. looks pretty gangster.

  • Where did you get the background music/score from? Consider sharing, has a nice feel to it! Looking forward to more of your work!

  • I love this man, I hate to see people give thumbs down to something like this, I love when anyone picks up a camera and tries to film something, (they should take the thumbs down button away and instead have a feature where you have to type paragraphs of why you don't think it's good)

this is inspiring and i can't wait to get started on my own

  • This is pretty rad, I love it.

  • Good stuff man! make it Widescreen it will look much more cinematic

  • what aperture did you use for 50mm lens?1.8 or 1.4?

  • Great short! I suspect a sequel, i liked the guys character with the mask, looks so filmic, if there's such a word! :D Keep making more good ones

  • @Cartyy maybe the word is cinematic? IDK but i agree with u!!!

  • Great job, guys. Looks really good.

  • nice job guys! I like the feel and colour, the focus was floating a little but thats not such a bad thing. I just made a short film called 'Conscience' using the same camera. It's on my channel if you like to have a look.

  • This is awesome :D great job!

  • @JARANDandJENS ok, appreciate the help

  • what program you use so your videos dont lag? My canon t2i lag like a mug after I upload them to the computer... I cant even import them into sony vegas with out it crashing...

  • Nice :D

  • anything with gas masks is cool

  • greaaaaat short. waas the t2i handheld? which lens u used 18-55mm ?

  • DAMN YOUR ANNOTATION> I press the screen to pause then it has to reload again.

  • very nice, what did you use for audio?
