The piracy in the area is the result of political and social instability in Somalia, which has been exacerbated tremendously by the US/Ethiopian invasion of that country.

I would have to argue against that. In my view I would say that it has been due to the proto fascism that has been going on every since the end of World War 2. What I mean by proto fascism is the intrinsic workings of "evil" capitalism practices exhibited by multi-national corporations. I would like to finish and say that we all are citizens of the world, and not to sound as if I hold to the Christian doctrine, but we are indeed our brothers keeper. The problem that I see with trying to help those in other countries through diplomatic means as well as through our "democratically" elected leaders is that there is no ONE organization that is unified together to tackle the problems not just of Somalia but of other countries as well. There has to be a united and organized effort.
