  • get strength shoes or jump soles they get your vertical and speed up quicker than air alert i have both n iv completed both programs n i found that strength shoes were much better also air alert cost much less than strength shoes and jump soles because it isnt as good

  • practice dunking softball tennis ball volleyball or even footbal over and over and over. The best way to jump higher and dunk for basketball is doing that so u can build muscle memory

  • Don't do air alert, you go through 15 weeks of tiring exercises and an unnecessary amount of reps and sets, for example by just week 10 your doing: 160 leap-ups, 100 calf raises, 60 step-ups, 140 thrust-ups, 900 burnouts! and 150 squat hops which you have to do 3 days a week. i only got about 5 inch gain from it, i'd recommend jumpsoles instead

  • Ok 1 do not use ankle weights its a good way to mess up ur knees and 2 dont do it everyday bc u r suppose to let ur legs rest 2 to 3 days between doing vertical jump exercises. i did jump attack and got 8 inches last summer, be carful tho i got jumpers knee and it is a bitch to get rid of

    1- u must have strong legs

    2- dont be fat , one extra pound is fatal

    3-stretch everyday

    4-use ankle weights

    simple as that dont spend money in progrmas

    do this everyday

    in a month ur vertical is like 34

  • Dude - don't do air alert! it sucks! If you want to buy a program then buy Vetical Project. HOWEVER it's real expensive. SO the best thing you can do is RESEARCH and build a program yourself using weights, plyometrics and drills.

  • use the vertical jump bible it's the best. If you can't afford it than just squat. Squatting will not hurt your knees if you do it correctly. Start with a real low weight and then progress keeping strict form.

  • An old friend of mine swore by using "dunk shoes".  They have a flat extension the size of the ball of your feet that train you to jump higher. Search google for jump shoes.

After that do some running jumps with 2 feet and then 10 more running alternating each leg. Also during the day and night try doing 300-500 jumps randomly but stay dedicated to it

  • hey and hi to everybody. i have a question for all of you who are doing or who have done air alert3. when im doing the squat hops, im feeling a pain in my knees. i dont have any pain after finishing but sometimes, i can hear my knees cracking. do you know if its normal and i wont have that after finishing the program or should i stop now.

    p.s: i didnt had any knee injury before

  • i had the same problem last football season..doctor said i was being to rough on my knees and that i tore some cartilage..just be really careful and dont go too low when doing any kind of squats..

  • Go to a scuba shop and buy the kind of weight belt that uses bags filled with lead shot. Just wear it while doing everyday things or working on your air. You can make your legs think you're 50 lbs heavier than you are, and instantly lose the weight when you're ready to play.

  • hey man dont waste ur time with those internet videos. im 15 yrs old, and i have a 40 inch vertical. i guess one of the things u can try is to stand in one spot, and focus on exploding up into the air. do that about ten times. then jump off of something about a foot and a half, and do the same thing. focus on exploding of the ground, but do it as soon as u hit the ground. u should gain the 5 inches u want soon.

  • To increase your vertical, you have use jump boxes.

    You jump onto a 2 foot high box for example over and over again to improve your jumping but it also protects your joints. Doing Squats, Calf Raises, and Legpresses also increase your vertical a lot.

    But you should only do those 2 or 3 times a week.

  • I forgot to mention my middle finger is 3 inches long, which i used to in my rough calculation. Actually i dont know that that jump was my best ever...i just may have timed it the best. Since im so small, i think on some of my approaches i jump from too close to the rim and actually attempt to hang when im still ascending a little bit. I swear on some of my jumps it felt like i would just never come down, but i didnt hang on those ones.

  • to measure a veritcal do u have to stand completely still and then jump or can u take a step or two? On my best jump ever i hung from the rim by my middle finger (im about 5'5.5'') and my standing reach is about 7'1-7'2. I got a running start tho, i figure i was about 37-38 inches of the ground for that one.

  • before you do any plyometrics or any shit like that get into the gym and do squats and other leg exercises till you got legs like trees then work on explosiveness using plyometrics also work on flexibility especially in the hips

  • dont use air alert because you risk injuring you knees bigtime. You can't do too many jumps you have to train smart. Jumping is like lifting it should only be done the maximum 2 times a week

  • i used to ball but tore my MCL and ACL 2 weeks after completing Air Alert jump program. It gave me 8 inches to my vert and blew my knees out. air alert is too strenuous and has tooo many reps it wears out the knees fast.. i reccomend JUMP USA or another safer program

  • No, do not listen to these idiots! Air Alert is a terrible excuse for jump training and is much more likely to injure than help you. Also some of those people who say they improved their verts also say their jump was a lot slower. In addition, the usual amount of reps for plyometrics is about 1 to 10, but AA calls for as many as 500!! You're much better off with Double Your Vertical Leap or Vertical Jump Bible.

  • i posted a video where i did a simple dunk. When i did this video my vert was 28 inches... Now i'm doing AA and i already have 33 inches... AA is hard but AA works!!!

  • air alert is not good...when doing plyometrics, you should have at least 48 hours in between your workouts to give your muscles enough time to recouperate. Air alert makes you do it everyday for an hour or more. jumpsoles is the way to go. its twice a week, prolly bout 30-45 minutes per workout. its an 8 week program and i only did it for 6 and got about 7 inches. I'm bout 5'5" and can dunk, i got a standing vert of close to 38. I'm not bullshittin you either, jumpsole is the shit

  • yea, jumpsoles is great. i guess in 5 weeks ive averaged 1 1/2 workout a week with just doing stretches and stuff and squats and i gained 8 inches, i wasnt able to do much of the more advanced stuff because i injured my back but its about 100% now so ill be starting to do the other stuff. im 5'6" now have a 36 inch vertical with hardly doing a thing.
