@raidenlai he's actually just very dry and dour like a lot of people from the cold dark parts of the British Isles, trust me, if you get his wavelength he's hilarious !
@poplova, if you don't like him fine but dont complain like an imbecile, and I hope you're not suggesting macro bagdhatitis is a better player!!! Oh and fuck off as well :-)
Oh and Lendl is the best option for him as Lendl will pass down all the wisdom of Tony Roach and making it past the finish line while your country is not exactly behind you.
Maybe Wimbledon is not a title that Lendl will enjoy coaching him for but, lets face it a male Brit winning any Grand Slam is a huge achievement yet to be accomplished in modern and not so modern times, I think Andy Murray has the goods!
I guess in the end its all about tennis and the personality is at the bottom of any sports minded persons list.
The players of old all had very different personalities from Noah to Lendl and all in between. Yes it made tennis more varied then but tennis has now reached a Plateau as almost every player has to hit the ball hard and has a 2 handed backhand.
Some will see Murray as rude or grumpy but, I see him as honest, focused and the best player the UK has had to offer in the open era period!
and incidentally, if you ask around, you will find that quite a few brits don't like him cos of his attitude on court. it's not just about what skill level he might have. 3 grandslam finals and losing them all in straight sets, so forgive me for thinking he's overrated. that's neither here nor there. people like marcos baghdatis, who is also a grand-slam finalist i believe deserves respect, for the attitude he has on court. win or lose, he always looks like he's enjoying the game, unlike murray
@poplova and I'm a HUGE Murray fan, and I know his attitude isn't great. but you have to understand he only gets so frustrated on court because of how much he wants to win... and with the pressure of having lost those 9 sets in GS finals, plus the pressure from all you Brits, you have to respect how well he deals with that
@tennisguyADNA that's fair enough. i know he's got the pressure of a nation behind him. i will be the first to admit how shocking the level of tennis is in britain. but i just think that he's gonna be another henman. although in my opinion, henman was a lot more likeable
this guy is the most boring player ever off the court, and the most grumpy player on the court. win or lose, his expression never changes. he's a disgrace to british tennis
@poplova He plays tennis to succeed... not to entertain haters on YouTube... at no4 in the world, you have to respect what he's done, and as far as I'm concerned, Great Britain is very proud of him; greatest British player in a long time
@tennisguyADNA his career high is no 2. same as tim henman. and as far as i'm concerned, tim henman was a LOT more likeable than that prick. i'm british myself, and i'll be the first to admit that the pro tennis level in britain is shocking. but that does not mean that i'm gonna back him. there are a lot of up and coming british juniors that hopefully will be able to perform well on the pro tour
@poplova actually Tim reached a career high of no4 in 2002, not no2. and like I said, Andy doesn't play to impress you, he plays to win--which he does. He reached the semis in all grand slams this year, which only 7 players have done. I get that you don't like him, but there's no need to be so blatantly open about it... and fyi... Britain's best junior is Oliver Golding, and trust me, he's not that great. so looks like Murray's all you have whether you like it or not! :)
@ThePacemaker45 the man's a true Brit. all the Brits who don't dig him have merely forgotten what it means to be dour, straight talking, hard working, and completely unconcerned with external opinion. Sit in the rain and be unruffled..... be stolid and determined. You UK peeps need to shoot Jordan in the head and recognise a proper role model. This is to the moaners below.
personality of a plank, almost feel asleep at the first minute..
