Harmony Gold recently fucked over Smith and Tinker and Piranha Games by saying "NO YOU CAN'T HAVE THE UNSEEN 'MECHS", such as the Marauder and Warhammer.

I especially mourn the possible loss of the Marauder and Warhammer designs as we know them. I hate the "reseen" versions of some of those 'mechs. :<

TBH, I thought the design changes to the Warhammer in the trailer video would have been enough (cockpit extended to be in front of body, torso a bit thinner, feet and arms revamped, etc.)

Basically, the new MechWarrior, being made by the creators formerly of FASA, is MechWarrior as in the real MechWarrior RPG from the Battletech games.

It's MechWarrior as in the tabletop version, presented in the same format as the previous computer games - except it's the real deal.

Actually it's being funded and administered by the former FASA team now known as Smith and Tinker, the game is being made by Piranha Games (A little software team in Canada who own a pet Piranha ^^), Smith and Tinker were not working on the game to begin with mainly because they were too busy working on their current game. Recently they have had time to put some team members into assisting Piranha games. But no MechWarrior is Piranha games first true full team full game effort, congrats guys.

I perfer the Mad Cat / Tember wolf I never could do mutch with the Mark ii / Cheeta. I don't know how do you have it armed? My mad cat has 2 IS small lasers and 2 IS large lasers in the arms. I have 2 IS medum lasers one in each torso. and 2 clan LRM 20 with 4 tons of ammo. Approx speed 75 kphI leav the amour alone and the rest is heat sinks no ecltronics. it is my favroat heavy mech.

I found that the only difreances between IS tech lasers and clan lasers are range and heat. Sure clan lasers weigh less but they generate a hole hell of a lot more heat so by the time you add extra heat-sinks it is just not worth it unless you are going for range. Clan guns and LRMs are supior, but the clans need new laser and SRM desingers. IS SRMs=less heat, faster resycle time, same damage, and same weight. So there is no lock, it just means that they are not suscptable to LAMS.

Yes... I remember the first time I saw a Timberwolf, it was on a videogaming magazine 18 years ago or so... well, it was love at first sight, and since then, in every Mechwarrior I managed to play, I always used this little jewel as many times as possible!!

I can relate 120% to 81Sparhawk, the Madcat (AKA. Timberwolf) was my favorite mech for years. Then came the MadcatMk. II.

This 90 ton Assault Mech well outweighed it's 75 ton Heavy Mech counterpart, was faster than (as far as I know) any other Assuault or Heavy mech with a 98mph top speed (while carrying a decent engine of course) beared heaver weapons such as its 2 Gauss Cannons and 2 Gauss Guns, had a jumpjet cabable of 90 meter jumps as well as enough armour to survive multiple AlphaStrikes.
