just think we own them 5 trillion dollars, and they own us, like we are going to remain a free country, BY BY america, china is going to kick our ass,
before any of you saying that the shaolin training and skill is fake, well I suggest you go to China and see the REAL temple yourself and witness their training yourself. and yes, they push their body limit so far... I bet your TNA, RAW, or wrestling heroes are ashame
@leonpacifist1988 Shaolin are the hardest working warriors (probably the only REAL warriors left on the planet) in the world. They even have a nutsack strengthening training where they tie a rope to their sack and drag a tree log with it! I mean.... goddamn!
@TheFubbick pewnie chcesz mnie obrazić, kurwo bez szkoły. Jebał cie pies, jebała cała wieś, a twoja siostra daje dupy chińczykom. Serdeczne chuj ci do dupy :*
@Piratenflagge1 Which other warriors are there then? I know the Yakuza reportedly still uses ninja, but that has never been proven so... If you're thinking special ops guys or marines, then sorry, but they're not warriors, they're soldiers. Big difference.
@leonpacifist1988 Thats true, they r awsome, but still you cant tell the ending of a fight by the martial art you train. Oh, and RAW TNA and Wrestling arent Martial Arts at all so you cant really compare them, its just show and most of the guys do it for the money and entertainment, something completely opposite from the essence of Martial Arts.
@leonpacifist1988 Superior technique > physical fitness, as a determinant factor in close combat. Doesn't matter how fast the shaolin monk is after a single or double leg take-down, transitioning into any number of locks/chokes. Also, RAW? That's fake pro-wrestling shit. Try UFC, Pride, or any other number of respectable REAL mixed martial arts organizations, where fighters are indeed pushed to the limits of human fitness. That is real combat.
@alanwake528 No, you obviously did not read my comment. I am saying that despite the physical feats they appear to be able to achieve, their training is not optimized for combat effectiveness. They maybe can jump higher, do fancier kicks, hold more of their own bodyweight on any given limb, than most professional sport fighters, but they would not necessarily win the fight. I respect their training, and their bodies, but not their combat ability.
@leonpacifist1988 All that said, I have respect for the physical training of the shaolin monks, but I sincerely doubt they are the most combat effective in the world, by any margin.
My goodness. I watched this movie in my class 2 days ago, and it's unbelievable! It's so sad! I literally cried!): but it has a lot of action and blood.. It's also funny and ong just a great storyline. This movie is just amazing. It's a much watch.
I live in San Diego, California and actually saw this on the big screen while i was visiting Hong Kong. It was awesome to watch a movie like this in a theatre that seats almost 200+ people. The theatre in the U.S. is nothing compared to this theatre in Hong Kong.
@MrNeiltron Hey MrNeiltron. This was the theatre in Hong Kong i was in. AND you get to chose where you seat is when you purchase your tickets "The Dynasty Theatre is in the Mongkok district on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong. It has showed first run Chinese dialect and English language films since it opened to business on 2nd February, 1991. With 1,920 seats in two stadium seating auditoriums, it is the largest cinema in Hong Kong."
I saw this movie and it was excellent. It is a similar in structure to Jet Li's Fearless. The hero starts the movie as a bad guy (or in fearless, arrogant). Through their actions they cause themselves and their families nothing but pain and suffering. The hero learns from this and return to society a new man. One who has learned humility and compassion.
I am usually no fan of the Asian unrealistic fighting movies, with super fast moves and running through thin air, all that stuff, but ONE thing is certain! Jackie Chan does all his stunts himself! so thats fucking cool AND if there is any movie that should have those "Asian movie fight moves" then it should be the Shaolin munks because they are BADASS IN REAL LIFE!!!
That kid in the last scene reminded me of those 2 little shaolin kids i used to watch when i was a kid, the one with the serious one that knows kung fu and the fat shaolin kid.
Wow, Jackie Chan? In ANOTHER movie? Not that I'm at all surprised but jeez, that guy is hitting what? 50? Man, what a trooper, THAT is a guy doing what he loves. ^_^
@machinims Part 2: Crosses by default, hooked or not, seem to be a very potent and powerful in their symbolism, yet the design is also easy to create; a symetric shape of simple beauty. No wonder it has cropped up in so many different cultures and eras. Ignorance of knowledge doesn't suit anyone very well, if you do not have the knowlegde then you might want to educate yourself. Yet, it is a moot point to discuss here.
@machinims Actually, just because the Swastika (or Hooked Cross, Sun Wheel, Tetragammadion, etc.) is a prominent symbol in Hinduism does not make it hinduistic. It is a symbol that has been used for quite some time and in many different cultures, which is the point I am making here. Which also leads to my other answer where I answered that the Nazis did not necessarily adopt it from the hinduistic religious symbol but form those forms know in Europe for a long time.
@machinims You should check historical sources. The word Swastika is a word that is derived from a Sankskrit word, but that is about the only connection with India or Hinduism. Other than that Swastikas have been used as ornaments in many different cultures across the globe long before contact with India was established. Be it the greeks (tretragammadion) or the sun cross (a derivative of the swastika) or other, earlier cultures both in Asia, Africa and Europe.
