This was not a crosswind landing. It is right rudder and left stick typical for a glider landing...when you overshoot a landing spot. So pelorus32 is right.
That would be me. And its not a fantastic landing. its a bloody miracle the AC stayed in one piece. SuperiorHuman's comment below sums it up pretty well.
You might add your post-landing comment touting the virtues of your fantastic crosswind capablities but you and me both know you fluked this and are very lucky to not have totalled the a/c. I can dissect the entire landing sequence for you and everyone else if you wish. There's an opportunity here for people to learn from your mistake if you were man enough to admit it.... rather than telling people about your mad-skilz and saying this is how to correctly land in a X-wind.
Besides, its more for pilots, having a bit of fun with digital trickery (the sparks and bump noise) as well as showing a crosswind landing under a strong wind.
You are supposed to Forward Slip to the right on a right crosswind, never the opposite side.
Ownership and Airmanship are two different words and most time not related. Most good pilots like military, CFI, Airline Pilots & Spray Pilots are payed by owner to fly their planes due owners can't fly well.
*lol* the spark and thud sound effect were digitally placed in during post production. As Mike (the pilot) said, he used aggressive sideslip to get the plane into position for a "spot landing". I just 'loved' his crosswind technique, if you get my drift.. and had fun with the digital FX
damn tecnams! those things are always holding me up in the JBV 152, i had to do a go around for the first time when i was solo cos a tecnam was takin his bloody time gettting off the runway!
The Aero Club has a copy of the DVD I shot at a recent CASA safety evening you might like to borrow. Its called AIRMANSHIP. You might even like to discuss the subject with Allan Cole, your CFI.
There was a little bit of xwind for this one. Mainly however it was very gusty with lots of lift and thermal activity. This was a glide approach to a spot landing zone. It took aggressive sideslip to get the aircraft to come down.
Despite the "helpful" editing there was no sense of side loading on that wheel. I had full left rudder in at that point and the a/c gently pivoted on the right main wheel.
fake. everyone knows airplanes and unicorns don't exist. -_____-

@Cally460 I must admit...I did chuckle. And yes I am a pilot lol! but lifting that wing with the wind made me kinda nervous!

@blockwilson Because dumb shits like you watch and then bitch.

@blockwilson It's just a funny effect, why don't you focus on the technique used for landing instead of criticizing the spark?

what happened to the landing gear?
markvinas31 1 year ago
@markvinas31
Absolutely nothing. No damage whatsoever. The pilot thought it was a great landing. The CFI simply said "more practice needed.."
Cally460 1 year ago
@Cally460 Ohh, I see I thought the landing gear was damaged because I've seen there's a spark of some sort.
