Well i am in DES im almost in DMS j knew there was a fire but i didnt know we were on youtube!!!! And Mr.Mauchad is on here to

I was in the last graduating class before it burnt. Our class song was "We didn't start the fire".

1st time I've seen this video, am watching with tears as I was a member of the last high school class to graduate from this school, b4 it became a middle school. My Dad worked for years in this building. Has brought back good memories of the school & memories of my Dad. The school was built in the 1930's

No it was on a school day my sister and two cousins were in the building .While I was in the dighton elementry down the road . The fire started by faulty electrical . Everyone was evacuated safely

Jesus I lived in nearby Seekonk, Ma. and I don't remember this. Usually I remember all the big fires around the area. Outlet fire in '86, Kerr Mill fire in '87, etc.

oh man, watching this brings back the memory like it was just yesterday. i was in a 7th grade classroom on the 2nd floor when the fire started. i remember we could HEAR the fire in the ceiling above us, followed by the smell of smoke. pretty scary ordeal for a 11-12yr old.

Wow, I moved right across the street from that in '93. I went to the Kindergarten that used to be there then DES and the new DMS. I never knew what the old middle school looked like.

Actually, I was in 7th grade during this fire. It broke out just before the end of the school day after a wiring problem I believe ignited old books and desks in the attic. Fortunately everyone got out safely and we were brought to the Town Hall which is next door to school. Students had to attend school at an old elementary school in Somerset until the new school was constructed. This site is now a playground, but whenever I go by, you can still see the ghost of the building there.

A very ghostly-looking fire. I saw an equally ghostly fire that same year ('91). It was so ghostly that figures were seen at windows during the (three-day!) blaze. Old schools are ghostly, especially during fires.

Great video. I actually went to school there- and drove by around 4:30 that day- what a shock to see it gone. I have good memories of that building.

Actually, it was a week day...I just watched the whole video and there was a point where at the bottom it said 1/8/1991. So it wasn't February. And January 8th in 1991 was a Tuesday.
