Because Eve was dead so her power to kill Gods was neutralized for the moment. Ares sacrificed his immortality to revive Eve and heal Gabrielle which restored Xena's God killing ability.

I always hated how the Twilight of the Gods was handled in Xena. First off, how hard would it have been for Hercules to be involved in this. Since as we have learned most of the gods and goddess actually respected and loved Herc, How hard would it have been to have him talk them down out of a war.

And of course nothing comes from Xena killing them all.

Except episodes later when Ares has no godhood Aphrodite goes mad due to it. Yet nothing happens when the others are killed to the balance ->

@ThatAverageMike of the world. When they state openly that Love and War balance each other out. And I believe the one Xena knocks down a pit is Aphrodite's husband or lover in the series.. yet Aphrodite helps her get to Olympus to kill the other gods?

I am sorry but Artemis had every right to try and kill Xena when she is brought to Olympus if the bitch who killed more then half my family comes barging into my house that is self defense.

@ThatAverageMike friend and love interest slaughtered her way through more then half of his remaining family (His mortal mother died, and he killed his own father). Considering as I said he was on good terms and liked most of them.

If they do a Xena movie or something I would love to see something like that done where she has to explain to herc 'oh and by the way I killed like 75% of your family, we still ok?' I get they where trying to kill her and her kid but her kid was fortold to be the one

@ThatAverageMike who killed them, so it made sense for them to be afraid and lash out at her, especially after Zeus was murdered, and of course he killed Hera or did something with her so their left leaderless with no parents whom they have had for thousands of years guiding them.

To finish.. how are wounds not inflicted by Xena killing people? Like that cart that crashed on top of Spite.. Xena had nothing to do with that other then deflecting energy bolts.. in that case shouldn't you just-

@ThatAverageMike say their mortal around her or something because it was getting goofy how they where saying she was killing them. Hades, Spite, Poseidon should have survived easily as none where killed specifically by her. Hades is the God of the Underworld after all fire should not hurt him.

Also later when The Archangel michael tries to kill Xena Eli her buddy removes her power to kill gods because he does not want her killing his people only those who stand in the way of his God's coming

@ThatAverageMike The Power to Kill Gods doesn't just give Xena the ability to kill Gods. It basically makes the person she is fighting as vulnerable as a human in regards to her offense. She can deflect a fireball and kill Poseidon because a normal person would die from the impact of a fireball. My question is why not just freeze time,become invisible to mortals, or travel back in time and simply kill Eve?

@WAREHOUSE553 I understand that, it just makes no sense. I mean I get they where pushing the modern Christian God as the Supreme God and all that, calling Zeus and the others lesser gods and all but to literally kill off a small army of them without ever even getting cut is insane. Especially when you look at the overarcing story. Would Hercules really be ok with her slaughtering all the gods? Yes he would not agree with them going after her either but he would have talked them all down or -

@ThatAverageMike tried to at the very least. And the whole Ares gives up his godhood thing was so stupid it made my head hurt, especially since.. youknow just feed her fucking ambrosia your on olympus and it's like candy to them there (See young Herc) she is a god hence immortal and Xena is a godslayer/angel slayer.

Still find it funny as hell as soon as Michael wants to kill Xena her good pal Eli removes her power to kill him.
