I wished I had gotten to interview Hitch -- everyone asks him about his famous films, but I would have loved to talk about Marnie, Torn Curtain or Topaz. Especially Topaz, which probably has one of the most beautiful murder scenes in any of his films -- when Juanita the spy is shot, and as she falls to the checkered floor, her dress spreads out behind her like a flower. No one ever asked him about that.
MASTER.. HE IS THE MASTER! No matter how many times I watch his masterpieces, I always end up to the same conclusion. His heritage to us is totally artistic and priceless. Thank you master!
"Not a dry seat in the house." Love it! Fascinating to hear him talk about the difference between suspense and mystery instead of just reading it, as I have over the years. Wonderful upload, thanks so much!
@TinyDancer500 exactly! pretty amazing analysis by Sir Hitch. as in mystery works out your left brains, your cold hard intelect, But suspense works on your right brain, your emotions, therefore i guess its deeper and move moving or influential upon the viewer. i guess thats why i dont calm down after Hitch's movies end. i keep on thinking about them :]
Rest In Peace Alfred Hitchcock August 13, 1899 - April 29, 1980

It's great to hear Mr. Hitchcock speak, but Tom Snyder's body language is terrible through this whole interview. 2:55, wtf?
