  • Love it.. love Heaven 17

  • Brocco Bank Crew

    Psalter Lane enhanced

Ware and Marsh are and always will be "The Future"

Soon to appear on Facebook Retromusik Page

    Gordons Gin already on there

  • hey,i just read somewhere here that heaven 17 was first a part off the human league

  • THE mainpart, friend. Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh. Phil Oakley carried on the biz, and I think he did a good job. Got a couple of shags out of a couple of disco girls amoungst other things, which can't be a bad thing! : ) Wait for Susz to reply here, but she might have gone through the menopause and calmed down. : )

    Win win, it definately was.

  • "Got a couple of shags"!!.....love your words.

  • youtube search this " WICHITA LINEMAN by Glenn Gregory B.E.F. 1982 " for Glenn Gregory's original rendition of Wichita Lineman on album from 1982. Enj-flipping-joy!

  • Oh yeah, didn't they do an album of cover versions or something?.songs of distinction or something..its all coming back now.

  • 'Music of Quality and Distinction' volume one about 1981/82 time, volume two in the 1990s sometime. Volume one is a cracker.

  • sample from volume one here, youtube search, ' WICHITA LINEMAN by Glenn Gregory B.E.F. 1982 '. No heed to get up and slow dance if you don't want too.

  • good version, nice n chunky. think the female backing vox work ...but not at the end :-?

  • Ace vocals from Glenn Gregory again. You should hear his Wichita Lineman on Music of Quality and Distinction for amazing vocals.

  • Travelogue is one the greatest albums of all time, and WAY better than the gunk Oakey et al released during their chart topping years.

  • empire state human and being boiled are both technically human league songs- yes i know the hisory of the groups- but those two songs appear on human league cd compilations

    never on heav 17 comps.

  • Fuckin a!!!!!!

  • You and me both!! }-/

  • Much too COOL for their time back then;-)!

  • I have mixed this with "Fade To Grey" by Visage and it's like the song's second part ;-P

  • Great version! Tho, imho, the Travelogue one is still best. Also like those covers by Simple Minds (esp. the bass line) and RHCP a lot.

  • Blimey, reclaiming Being Boiled after all this time.Too good. What with Phil Oakey's Human League doing Empire State Human live the past few years it's good to see the early stuff having a live(ish) outing no mater who performs it.

  • Non male questa versione. Perà sia la voce che la figura di Phil Oakey è tutt'altra cosa!!! Speriamo, in tempi di reunions, la reunion originale dgli Human League di Reproductions e Travelogue

  • Synthesizers RULE!!! 80's BABY

  • Anybody ever notice one of their best (and most prophetic albums) from '97?;-)! Don't tell me I was the only one buying it faithfully back then?!

  • that´s absolutely brillant!!!a bit out of sync, but who cares?...u can still hear that original lines from travelouge...but funked in the 17 style...is there a dvd of that show? technically well made, stunning, really...how old is this? nu-wave-funk rules!!!

    zrn

  • This is amazing, never heard heaven 17 do this before

  • close your eyes and it sounds like Phil.....lol

  • omg. This is, now, my favorite version.

  • Thanks for posting this. Wish I could get the DVD, but it looks like it's going to be in PAL format only.

  • interesting...i never thought this would work, but this reworked version of being boiled is great, although it sounds like the TRAVELOGUE version has had the backign track sampled and remixed in abelton live
