Oh how I miss Joe meek 304 since he shut down his site; all that effort he put into what was clearly a mission to share with the world the man who was Joe meek and keep a light shining for those artist who would have since slipped away in to obscurity... lets hope somone takes up the flame and runs with once more...
Long Live Joe Meek. BTW: I thought Mike was great in Worzel Gummidge
Well I'll be bumswizzled - if it ain't that pesky tichy 'uman's danged grumpy father. I'll be bozziemacoo'd if I'm listening to one more moment of this dratted racket. I'd rather mash me 'ead with salt 'n pepper.
This is clearly not the "Original" version at all! Why do so many people say this on youtube? You need to have a look at the upload by escortRS1600i the reason it's has had over 31000 more views that this version is because it's the studio version which is the version that got into the charts in 1980! Oh by the way "The rest of the world" has spotted that this is not the original and have gone elsewhere to find it!
To put the record straight on the 8th of october Mike Berry was appearing live with the Outlaws on a Joe Meek Festival he is still going strong and i can assure you he was not miming he is still a fantastic etertainer Gog Hill
Poosikat, you really are thick. He's mimimg not singing and secondly what exactly do you mean by "MIKE BERRY ORIGINAL VERSION?" He was having hit records before you were born!
This is very obviously sung live if you've ever heard the studio version by mike berry this version is COMPLETELY different !. Granted the sync is out a mile or it may have even been pre-recorded but "live" all the same.
LUCKY YOU!!!!!!!! LETS SEE, ALL I NEED IS TO GET RICH SO I CAN GET TO ENGLAND, THEN FIND ALL HIS CONCERTS AND I ,TOO, WOULD BE ABLE TO SEE HIM IN PERSON!!!!!!!! DON'T I WISH!!!!!!!!
Well spotted!!! Are you some kind of comedian Ikijju or just a bit thick? The point is, it's Mike Berry singing his original hit from 1980 as opposed to some wally miming to it!!
The song was actually written in 1913, so unless Mike Berry was about 85 when he recorded it, the rest of the world had worked out the obvious! Where were you? .......................... ???
Thank you so much I had this played at my dads funeral because it reminded me of him, so glad I did. Every time I hear it I think of his lovely smile.

This is hardy the original version of this great song. This was recorded round about 1982, and the song must be 100 years old.

Just got home after seeing (and meeting) Mike tonight in Hartlepool. Excellent show and he's still as good today as he was all those years ago.

This is a beautiful song. John McCormack, the Irish Tenor, made a beautiful rendition of it. I haven't been able to find it. Nice rendition here.
