I want to know a LOT more about "Gethsemane: A Dance-Drama" @54:35. For instance: Did this seem normal at the time? Was anyone offended by leotards in the chancel? What did the girls' parents think about this? Did Boosey & Hawkes have anything to say about the presumably unauthorized adaptation of Benjamin Britten's Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes? WHAT'S GOING ON?
There was something so touching and enjoyable about this. The beautiful church and singing, the people giving testimonies of sorts, everyone seeming to find the notion of Christian faith very important. Does this still go on over there? I can't help but think about the people, how many of them have passed on and how many yet remain with us.
My goodness - never thought I would ever see this again! I was in the National School mime, remember the filming like i was yesterday. My boys and husband have had a great laugh!
Brilliant, thanks. I was in St Wulfram's and King's choirs (I was 18), so was in both programmes. Noticed a lot of familiar faces. Think Philip Lank was playing the organ, but can't really see - he could have been conducting. Spotted Bob Jeffries, Gerald Necklen, Geoff Winter. I was stood next to Malcolm Bailey in the tenors.
Thanks so much for this. In 1980's the programme was great. still watch today but it's not the same. I feel a modern version of this format could still work today.
I was there singing with the National school choir. Never thought I'd see this again.Don't know where you found it Stu, but thanks. It gave my son a good laugh seeing his mum aged 11.
Yes, I was there in the 1st programme of the two. Long curly hair and glasses.....I seem to have lost both of these years later! Great memories...thanks Stu. Btw, you looked very angelic in your ruff...lol
43:56 slightly left of center. Bob Jefferies? Did he ever wear anything else but that green suit??
