  • Your Channel is gold worth! Much inspiration here! Started my delta blues journey this week so this channel will be well used, cant wait to learn how to slide!!

  • What open tuning is this in?

  • no soul

  • Badass slide tune man. Bless me with your top 5 delta blues players please. I'm trying to get into the Delta scene :)

  • Great job!

  • great

  • tocador de viola da porra! muleke nao é fraco nao!!

  • wow nice bro, that shit's real --> SUB'D

  • Somebody please tell me where I can buy one of these guitars!

  • @evilurges86 It's called a resonator, you can buy one most anywhere including musiciansfriend, just search resonator

  • Wicked, and yeah the mighty Son House is the best. Fuck the other haters on comments you play how you want to play.

  • well your guitarwork is gdamn awesome, but please get someone else to sing next time...

  • you have a sweet instrument, but unfortunately you suck. you suck the life out of the song. sorry bro, don't mean to hate. you're mirroring the melody too much. the guitar part and the sung melody are meant to compliment each other but not be one and the same

  • well played.

  • Close your eye´s and i hear the Delta, super.

  • savage.. you obviously know more about blues than me but i love what jack white does to these song.. maybe he does put too much of a spin on them but if it wasnt for him i wouldn no of son house and others like him so give white props for that atleast :]

  • Agree Son House is the real king, although I am partial to Skip James, just he didn't get as much exposure as Son House did. Nicely played!

  • Yeah, Skip is one of my favourites also,

He was one of the few 're-discoveries' who played better the older he got.

    Cheers

  • nice man !! you seen "it might get loud" jack white makes a pretty sweet son house reference in the movie.

  • naw never saw it... I'm not a big fan of what Jack White does to most blues songs also, allthough I can dig him bringing blues to a new audience.

Especially the song "keep it clean" by , I believe Charley Jordan, it's an amazing song but after I heard Jack Whites version I was like 'What's he thinking?'

  • Great playing, try to keep down the cockiness tho! Not what blues is about. Soul feeling and more soul!! Keep givin'r bro.

  • was I being cocky?

    lol i didn't realize it...

Thanks for the comment and diggin' it though

  • The blues isn't about cockiness? What? Have you ever met a black dude?

    @lostintheblues

  • @lostintheblues

  • you've got some very cool videos man. good slidin.

  • thanks you very much

  • Son House is the father of the delta blues.

  • Hey man, keep on playin'. Lovin' that!

  • Very nice, im trying to learn resonator, where you got the tabs, or do you play by ears?

  • thanks a lot

figured it out by listening to the record

  • Great playing. Keep it up. Some people under stand, some people don't. Some have it in their souls. Absolutely Killer. God bless you son.

  • *****great guitar playing but I don't agree on Son House with you - he was good, influental. But I like others better C. Patton for example or Tommy McClennan to name only two.

I like to invite you to watch my blues cartoons I did on SONNY BOY II & JIMMY REED. I hope they bring some extra enjoyment into your live(s),

    Greetings

  • Woa! 2711913.....you can't just go dropping that in there!! You met and played Son's guitar.....Jesus wept!

  • Nice playin' there alright. I got to meet Son House back in Indiana in about "67 or "68. He even let me play his guitar. What a thrill. I'll always remember that day. Keep on playin' them ol' blues.

  • Whoa indeed, 2711913! Where in Indiana did you meet him? Was he playing a gig somewhere? Did you shake hands with him?

  • It was in South Bend . He played at Notre Dame then did a workshop in a coffee house where I played. He asked if I wanted to play, I didn't have a guitar with me so he said "Here, you can play mine" and handed me his National steel, I remember him looking at me and smiling while I played some blues. A really nice guy. Also saw Muddy at an all black club there, me the only white boy. Show went from midnight till 7am. Got to see many of the long gone greats of the blues. Do you play?

  • Man, I wasn't even born when these guys were still around, you are so lucky to have had that opportunity I would give anything to have had that!

  • Yes, a beginner. Working on Empire State and Death Letter, and shopping for a National. Any advice. I live in Indy.

  • you are a baaaad man! nice job!

  • wow! that just gave me chills!

i'm favin' this one...might need it when the days get hot!

    : )

    p.

  • That's is some great playing! Where did you get the Son House record? Is it vintage, or a new resissue?

  • I found it at a small record store in Kingston, ON. It's from '67

  • You play that well. You know your stuff alright.

  • WOA NICE GUITAR, NICE PLAY TOO

  • goood goood

  • I though johnny otis played this song, great job man.

  • Great stuff man, yes Son is the serious mater of the delta blues.

  • can you give me a couple clues on how to play this tune? I think its open G and I can figure out some, but I need some help

  • Nice job.

  • get a 1929 natl triolian. i own one, its expensive but worth it

  • More like a National Steel DoBro..... I have always wanted one.

  • WE ALL LOVE YOU EDDIE HOUSE!!!!

  • that guitar looks and sounds awesome. When I'm good enough and rich enough I'm going to buy one. By the way, what exactly is it?

  • Epiphone resonator, made in '05 I think

  • lol wats the noise in the bac at the start?

  • lol that was my little guy waking up I think

  • Man, that was really really good playing and singing, i read in a comment that you were drunk ? Haha :D going into full blues singer mode ! Keep up the good work man, awesome .

  • i think you played it too clean. part of the blues is emotional mistakes. but as far as your clean playing and a representation of whats recorded. very nice

  • special rider blues is the name of this song.

    finally found out!

  • On the record I have of him, Special Rider Blues is the song right before Low down blues. Where did you hear the Special rider song you're talking about?

  • found the song online ;-) and i googled "special rider blues lyrics + son house" and its the same lyrics as your singing. btw, after hearing the original song i think you did an awesome job transforming the song a bit.

  • please help! cant find the song your playing!

every song called "low down dirty dog blues" by son house is nothing like the one you are playing here.... ?

  • Ya, it's Son House and The Delta Blues for sure!

    Good ! Very Good !

    Big Frank

  • Son House is a legend, keep his music alive! :)

  • awesome bro,

have you ever heard the 1965 sessions,

the greatest son house album in my opinion!

if not, ill send you a copy. man if i had your guitar i would beat the shit out of it playing son house tunes, like how he used to do it.

    cheers bro!!

i think papa charley is the king of delta,

though we unfortunately found him too late.

  • Is that the record with: 'I want to go home on the midnight train'(with harp), 'Between midnight and Day', a monologue on the blues, 'Levee Camp Moan' as well as the most haunting version of 'Death Letter', just to name a few.

If so, yeah, I have that and it kicks major ass....

Have you ever heard his original recording of the lyrics to Death Letter recorded in 40 or 41?

    I'll post the song.

  • keep that mojo workin' thanx! keep the blues alive

  • Great rendition
